DE office 1/12/22 RTO. Our desks are on top of each other. We are like sardines. I wonder how long it will be before the whole office is infected. Being vaccinated doesn't mean you are 100% safe. It simply means that IF you get it your chances of death or severe illness are lessened. I'm almost certain my RTO office will result in an infection. So do I quit and have no income or do I go to work and get sick? Pretty tough place they have position they have put their employees in.

Per Washington Post article, “ Omicron spreading rapidly in U.S., could bring punishing wave as soon as January, CDC warns. The worst case scenario has spooked top health officials, who fear a fresh wave, layered on top of delta and influenza cases in what one described as “a triple whammy,” could overwhelm health systems.”

I don’t know why you grunt workers are complaining, acting as if you mattered hahaha. Don’t complain if you’re just going to stick with the bank. “I’m going to keep working from home, I’m not going back to office.” No, you’re going to do what you’re told to now be quiet. You aren’t going to do anything and that’s a fact. Suck it up and get back to work!

Wait just one minute…. The WHO (world health organization) just said the omicron is spreading faster than any other variant and now they are bringing back vaccinated and unvaccinated? What the heck was the point of getting vaccinated if the unvaccinated are being allowed to RTO? This is beyond unbelievable. This company better pray THERE ARE SO SIDE EFFECTS for those who got vaccinated.

So why is GS and others in UK asking employees to WFH? Is the omicron variant over there more dangerous?
WTH is going on here?

One leader awhile ago said-“we just need to get you back in the office and then TRUST ME we will look at hybrid, etc. LF just said NO-pretty much ain’t happening. So many issues were skates around on that call. She said regardless of OMICROM- we are still going to return to the office. It’s all so hard to digest.

RTO is a freaking joke... They've been trying to get people back in the office for 3 months now and most offices remain largely empty... SLT get a clue!

To be honest, people that are actually going into the office are only part timers. I haven't seen anyone in the office more that 2 days a week.

Smart CEO's lead the pack, dum.b ones circle the drain and double down on stvpid. BM must be dizzy down there...

Goldman Tells Bankers In London To Work From Home If Possible

Now that the UK has identified the first patient infected with omicron to die, and PM Boris Johnson has asked Britons to work from home starting Monday if possible, it appears banks are once again asking workers to stay away from the office, if possible.

According to Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs sent a memo to its staffers in London last week asking them to return to working from home if possible.

“Those of you who are able to work from home effectively should do so from Monday,” the lender said last week in an internal memo. The bank’s offices will remain open for those who still need to come in. Safety protocols including an on-site testing program and the wearing of masks away from desks remain in place.

The guidance is in line with BoJo’s request last week that workers across England work from home if they can starting Monday. BoJo made the request while unveiling his “Plan B” COVID restrictions to fight back against the omicron variant.

Goldman isn’t alone: HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Citigroup and others have all told their bankers in the UK to stay home. Goldman’s call is even more notable, however, because the bank’s CEO, David Solomon, famously loathes working from home, and has vowed to try and stop it from becoming a lasting norm.

But financial firms aren’t only telling workers in the UK and Europe to stay home. As the 4th wave of COVID infections appears to have finally taken hold in New England, Fidelity, which has a large presence in Boston, paused a “pilot” return to office program in the city, according to a spokesperson.

That call applies to offices in Boston; Smithfield, Rhode Island; and Merrimack, New Hampshire. The decision was made due to “rising COVID risk.”
