I’m pretty sure this thread contained the most boomer response to ok boomer. Lol, a telecom that can’t use its own telecommunication services to work from home? While selling said services as giving the ability to work from home. Ridiculous!

Wow! I'm a 'boomer' and I am tapping out at the end of the year into retirement. Just got my flu shot, had a fully filled WHO shot card, but will NEVER take the Vaxx clog shot. For most of my years I here, I had a good time. Working from home was a nice salve after thirty years, but this is a "Communications Company" and people need to see each other in the flesh too. You really cannot learn this business from home.
That said, what they did to BR was unhealthy and unprofessional by cramming everyone into open air rooms packed with picnic tables and too few bathrooms which were disgusting by mid day. Hopefully this has been remedied either with less people at the Pagoda or more cleaning staff like the old days.
As far as management types picking on the union guys. Don't fall for that! I honestly wished, and even recommended, on a couple of occasions, that ALL new management employees go to Pole Climbing, POTS, and FiOS training within their first year on the job. Then when they can imagine someone doing that in February in Upstate New York or New England in the snow, or even just the cold, or blistering sun, then I think there would be a little more appreciation of the Outside Plant, Cable and Construction crews. They earn their keep just like the management people.
Everybody's check comes from the same payor and the company will never be named VZ and (insert your name). So do the job, connect the people, ignore the BS and try to have a good time while you get paid.
Team lead here. Work from home has increased our numbers across the board. My reps are happier, more productive, and focused. The nightmare scenario of them going back to an office would be devastating. Put me hybrid but please let them work from home permanently if they want.
Not true. I just don't think unioners deserve to work from home. They are already too lazy. That would just make laziness worse. Work from home is for people with self discipline.
