Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

New revenue streams needed by end of 2022 or 5G bust.

Seeking Alpha: Verizon, It's Darkest Before The Dawn.
Summary

  • The highly exuberant equity markets in 2021 created the perfect environment for high quality value stocks in the coming years.
  • Significant investments made by Verizon are also weighing down on the company's valuation, while the dividend yield gravitates around 5%.
  • Through these investments, the company solidified its leading position and created a significant edge over its peers in the U.S.

Honz was able to BS the Board with his infamous 5 Yeee riff rapp. What clearly escaped their critical thinking should have been "why should they believe an accountant and failed CEO from a European parts vendor about an expensive unproven, unneeded expensive new wireless technology?" He does not hail from MIT, nor Stanford, nor NASA, nor the NSA.

What is that old line? "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance then baffle them with Bull ____"

Hans' resume includes literally destroying Ericcson. Why would anyone hire a failure who has already ruined the last one he ran? He was an odd hire, he has really milked life and gotten filthy rich with utter failure and sheer idiocy, if you think about it. He's got something on someone, somewhere. There's no other rational logic behind hiring him, and now he's in the process of destroying Verizon just like he did to Ericcson.

Hans Is sinking this company fast. While Altice and other companies are upgrading their outside plant he’s doing nothing. While Altice and dozens are reselling cheaper cell phone service he’s doing nothing. All Hans seems to be good at is milking a high salary.

Verizon had to over spend on spectrum to catch up to T-Mobile which acquired spectrum in the Sprint merger. AT&T is in debtor's he-l and had limited budget to spend on spectrum. Also, Verizon needs to clear out it's debt for future acquisitions for fixed wireless. More rifs in the future.
