Some of us never left - I’ve been in the office everyday -
Productivity is up in the last 18 months, not driving 40 miles each way allows me to work 10 hrs a day, I get so much more done at home now with less distractions. Loving wfh.
Go back? Go back to what? The building is being emptied, furniture is gone, lease is up and T is getting out. Can we really afford to operate empty buildings? Went to the iQbar today, there were eight cars in the lot.
It's always a troll publicly stating they don't do any work while wfh. Putting on their best performance to convince the company to pull the plug on wfh. Mad because they are stuck in an office. The gig is up. Att managers would never allow this. Bye troll.
A far cry from the ivory towers at the Dallas Headquarters and AT&T Discovery District, the last time I visited my subfloor office in an old CO building, every surface was covered with black mold. Chairs, desks, monitors, you name it. All of it had mold growing on the surface. I had witnessed flakes of it falling from the ceiling tiles for years before COVID hit. Building services didn't care, and instead left a few bottles of spray cleaner around the floor for us to wipe off the desks ourselves. Nevermind that the building has long-standing humidity problems and the mold is growing in the ventilation system, as well as the space above the floating ceiling tiles. Sorry but my respiratory health is more important than that. With centers spread out all over the world, all of my work is done over the telephone, email, or Intranet. And with the increased workload from recent cuts I don't have any time left over for idle chit chat and daydreaming with peers around the water cooler at any rate.
But how can we collaborate? Sarcasm intended.

Even without COVID, it makes no sense for someone to go back to office if none of their team or anyone they work with is there. We have all these communication tools yet many outdated managers are so afraid of letting people work from home as they don't know how to monitor work getting done

Honestly I get more work done from home than I ever did in the office. Not to mention none of my team is local any longer, so what’s the point?
Pre-covid people were packed like sardines on long tables with not even a cubicle and space for personal items. What brilliant executive savant thought that was a good idea? Then Covid19 came along and dashed the hopes of the Akard St. crowd to simultaneously do a cargo cult imitation of Facebook's early years and show contempt for the employees. See, even a deadly pandemic can have a silver lining. Now, will the shallow minds at 208 S. Akard insist on going back to spreading pestilence among the galley slaves or will they find it impossible without a revolt?

If Delta was a rising tide, Omicron (at 4 time contagiousness over Delta) is going to hit this country like a tsunami. So, I think this back to the office stuff will be tabled for an extra month at least. Delta was 2 time the contagiousness of the original.
I think it might lead to herd immunity because it is likely that everyone will contract it.
I don’t think I could ever get used to working in the office again. I do too much around the house!
He-l no, I won't go back. This full time telecommuting is the best thing that ever happened to me. I can clean house, do laundry, cut grass, work in the flower beds just to name a few. No micromanagement!
