Will financial boost be enough to retain and attract top talent?

Article on multi-billion dollar fund that should bolster employee retention and attract new talent:

The additional $ 2.4 billion expense to Intel's bottom line will be distributed to its employees in either cash ($ 1 billion) or shares ($ 1.4 billion). Wages across the company will benefit from the extra $ 2.4 billion infusion at the start of 2022.

(...) and then comes the excellent ending of this article:

However, only time will tell whether this financial boost will be enough to secure all the sought-after talent of Intel employs and will be looking to employ in its future.

Too many directors and senior directors (Gr10/11 managers) who draw fat salaries don't contribute towards solving real problems. They are just there to protect their own turfs by creating unnecessary bottlenecks.

The bonus and RSU refreshes occur every year so it’s part of your annual comp.

You people that are in disbelief...go ask around.
It's true.
Check Blind and levels.fyi

600K salaries are the norm for senior engineers in the Bay Area working for FANG companies usually structured as 250K salary, 50K cash bonus and 300K RSU refresh.

I left Intel years ago and massively increased my wealth.
You just need to be a good problem solver (aka engineer).

Nvidia engineers (not) make 600k moonlighting on patreon and posting blogs on github.

Let's get real.
Does Intel pay over 600K?

If you're not getting this and you're a good engineer...
Consider your options.
You're leaving a lot on the table.

It's so good for engineers that even startups are having trouble hiring.

Intel is NOT in the same universe.
Intel has no idea what's out there for good people.
The result is that Intel will NOT get or retain good people and they'll continue to lose the talent war and have to settle for mediocre.

Yeah, the top talent is really sensitive to whether they are at the 95% market percentile.

Enough to pay for a couple dozen new Murthys and two I’ll-advised acquisitions.

Those who can leave will continue to leave.
The salary adjustments are nice, but as the stock has no upside momentum there is very little motivation to stay at Intel.

That is a lot of money going to management wives and cousins.

Why go or stay at Intel when AMD Nvidia or Apple or Microsoft are such superior company and future ?

If you are fab , TSMC, Samsung, dang or every company is winning while Intel is contracting.

That is why they need to raise pay, no one in their right mind will stay and even with the raise should, FUBAR is Intel

Retain - to some extent yes.
Attract - not very likely. For that INTC has to do some magic.
