My fully vaccinated manager went on vacation to NYC last week and now his whole family has the China virus. With his arrogance about being vaccinated, he deserves to be sick.

Au contraire my friend, I have a tale of 2 slackers in the company who prove they are useless in the actual office or working from home. Both are alleged SME's, but both are directly tied to millions of warranty and recall costs. Both get promoted as a result of costing the company all this money and or their incompetence.
One cannot help anyone in a meaningful way to save their lives, is muted on webex always, and always leaves the meeting before anyone else, you know, to skate out of getting any assignments. And when in the office, rather than go in person, they'll just webex it. Hard to avoid contact when sitting in a meeting in person. You'd think they would be SRD'd long ago, nope!
The other slacker, heh heh doesn't go on walks, this person will just take a company car every single day and go on non-work related adventures and personal trips. All on the company dime. Gets caught too, but management and HR do nothing. If you want to learn how to steal from the company, this person is your idol. And yes we are all working from home, but that doesn't thwart this person. That just makes it even easier to come to the test car parking lot and take a vehicle with no one seeing. We have fun betting on how they scam the company each day.
@ssp+1emPUaWD go back to work next month? Haven't you been working? I know I have. You mean go back to sitting in a useless office all day with headphones on webex. Or, are you one of those people that spent their days going out to lunch with suppliers, on walks, socializing, and otherwise can never be located. Essentially slacking. Because by this time, the ones chomping at the bit are the politic playing people desperate to restart the toxic office games as that is all they have. Working from home, they can't steal or take credit for other people's work. Nope, the office is pointless.

I haven't seen mention of this on TV news yet this morning, but this is a good thing. Maybe Ford will reconsider moving the hybrid work model start date and we can go back to work next month. Mandates work, it's proven. That is how we beat this surge.
