We have an overdue change at the tech ventures company. If you read the press release it is vague about what was actually accomplished by TV in the last decade or two. Can anyone think of anything worth noting? I'm not aware of a single truly useful result from the entire effort. Looks like it will become focused on little bits of Downstream or Transitions technology going forward. The leader and group are typically engineers who, as we know, lack the creativity to be competitive in tech ventures.

Nothing new here...All the leftovers from ESP, Alpha, Transformation have ended up in CTV
agree - not a place for hipots but rather a dumping space for people that are really technically alented but can never close in the business world
"This is the only anonymous message board for Chevron employees." Now THAT's Pathetic. This is thelayoff.com, always was and always will be. Deal with it.
I agree on the sabbatical, but have never seen any hi-pots in there. More like a dumping ground for those who don't fit in anywhere else.
Tech New Ventures has always been a country club sabbatical for high pots. The operation has never accomplished anything.
Post ID: @wyv+1entGwQC: Agreed giver it a rest asking each post how this is relevant to your layoff. Sorry you got booted, but you can't remain a butthurn loser your whole life! It is time to get over it and look for work again....then you can move your posts to your new company asking about your next layoff ;-)
@wyv Can you please stop posting this on every thread? This is the only anonymous message board for Chevron employees. In seasons where there aren’t active or imminent layoffs, this serves as a forum for honest discussion.
I wasn’t aware we had a Tech Ventures group. That’s how much influence they have in the company.
Will this affect layoffs, or you just post irrelevant random company info here?
Chevron Trashing Value. The ultimate money pit. I was forced to work with a startup in Bako called Zilift that was funded by CTV. They didn’t have a clue. It was pretty sad.
In today's CVX, it's not about actually doing anything. It's about looking like you're a progressive company. It's about woke, diversity, inclusion or any other popular buzz words. They've lost their way.
Oh ya. More tech because they know what our business is about.
The tech people can’t even make our computers work on sharepoint and O: drive and the endless number or other platforms they try and make us use and switch too.
