Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Training is very bad

I would love to stay here for a while longer. However, the training for new employees is very disappointing.
At first I thought it was normal, everyone needs to work hard to become acclimated to a new job. However, it is becoming increasingly clear to me that BofA can do much more in this regard but still decides to let us sink or swim.
It makes no sense to spend a lot of resources on hiring new people and then losing them very soon afterwards just because the beginning here is so stressful.

@1msm+1eoAfjpC and training is badder with WFH, much like this grammar.

Training has nothing to do with WFH. It’s just bad

This is the argument for having people RTO. New people need the hands on support. I sat in on some new hire collection classes. There was a ton of information. It's not just how to talk to a client to figure out how to best help them pay. It's disclosures and regulations too.

@1sfm+1eoAfjpC and that's why the training is bad, read the original post. Keep tooting the WFH ho-n.

I've trained new hires while WFH for 20 years. No big deal.

And how is one supposed to get a good training or shadow someone when WFH, huh? Yeah, keep rallying for WFH.

Training at BOA is a joke and almost nonexistent. When I got hired almost 20 years ago in my first role it was 6 weeks of training with a person who knew what they were doing. Plenty of side by sides, call calibration sessions hearing good and bad calls with being able to see what the rep was doing on their computer screens. Remember they track everything I’m surprised we don’t have to card in and out of the bathrooms. My next role training was only 2 weeks because we used the same systems just doing different jobs, no customer calls so no pressure trying to figure how to do something and plenty of help available walking around to answer question. My current role again it was 5-6 weeks of training with an associate who had been in the role for a long time and a 6 inch thick training manual. The last few additions to my department a management favorite picked for training and never saw the new additions with a training manual.

There are two types of training, company approved: 1. Sink or swim, 2. Self mentoring program.
