Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Don't care anymore

If they want to add more work to my plate, they can. From now on, it won't get done. They keep cutting people and expecting the rest of us to pick up their work and we all keep doing it. We're as much to blame for our current situation as the management. Of course they'll keep pushing if we keep folding. Well, I'm done. If that means I'll be shown the door, so be it. I'm past the point of caring.

You mo--ns really just don’t get it! When you tell others to leave and stop complaining, you really have no idea what effect that places on your department, the managers, and the company. Many of the people that have recently left hold an abundance amount of knowledge key to the success of future development, product sustainability, and all the key engineering knowledge that was never fully documented. Many really have no idea how how a product even functions without the key original designers still on board. This will only ki-l the PL and the overall BU in the long run, it’s only a matter of time. So keep keep your negative attitudes up and run off the rest of the key people we still have and see what it does to our jobs in the long run. This place is can never replace a fraction of it’s lost knowledge by by the time we’re really going to need it. We’ve been feeling these pains for years now and it’s not getting any better…

For a company being broke there sure are a lot of company trucks sitting at restaurants in Alberta. Shouldn't be anymore company trucks.

You've been getting off easy. Do the job or leave. Tough times and people have to start doing their share. Put on the big boy pants. Years ago men did way more than you are for a lower wage.

You have to realize sooner or later "the straw the broke the donkeys' back" ....is what is happening to you. You need to learn how to kick. If you like your boss, demand a raise, if he is hesitant take it a level above him, and so on up to the top. The worst that can happen is a reprimand that you should respect the chain of command. You could get a NO. When you do get push back, just hit them with I understand it costs the company money to increase salary, can I be compensated with stock "grants" (and I mean grants), not purchase options....then you can get money for nothin and chicks for free.
