I just got word from 4 people on my team that they had meetings this morning and are being let go from their current “associate” positions.
They were told their current jobs are being discontinued; they were invited to to apply for “numerous” other postings internally.
They have 30 days remaining in the current jobs.
Has anyone heard anything similar?
I was not expecting this.

"Apply for numerous other postings internally"...there are a total of five jobs currently on the internal job board. Usually, under "All Jobs" there are several thousand.

What is described is "job elimination". They either outsource the position or spread it among other people on the team. When interviewing, the person whose job was "eliminated" should make that a point, versus saying , incorrectly, "laid off."
Roll of the dice for sure, but if there’s a chance for a layoff before year’s end, here’s hoping we roll a hard seven. 🎲
