Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Guess those in the know .. didn't know at all!

Posts this weekend saying how those clued in by their HR buddies were SURE an email would be arriving today delaying RTO - much like I anticipated it was total BS.
Matters not to me since I am accommodated remote but kind of stinks that someone took the time to pour false hope out there for those that do have to go back and are stressing about it.
I think a couple things....
The poster seriously has no life and they're an a$$hat. Here's hoping they get what's coming to them.

It was always going to happen anyhow. All your post did was give people a reason to whine or bash WF for a few days until it did. You're risking your job by disclosing this information. Why risk it?

I get it. I posted info I had on another topic and was mocked for it too, but certainly not on the scale you were mocked. I'm sorry there are so many jerks here. But look at the up votes you got. It shows that people truly are appreciative of you.

There are definitely too much trolls and not nice people on the site. But not all of us! Some of very much appreciate the insight and info! I know a lot goes into the comms even though the leaders are sending everyone in circles. Thanks for sharing.

Scr*w you trolls on this forum. I worked on the RTO delay comm, came on this site to share, and got blasted. Won't do that anymore. Stay in the dark.

Well now they are vindicated. RTO delayed, no new dates, coming in is voluntary as of January 10 to those who are vaccinated. Happy holidays!

I come here for a laugh - there are other reasons other than 'grasping at straws' as you say.

If I want information I'll ask my manager who is a reasonable person and he'll answer honestly if he knows and say he doesn't know if not.

You're not relevant as it relates to having any information to communicate that hasn't already been made readily available. We're all grasping at straws here, yourself included, otherwise we wouldn't possibly have a use for this site.

Sorry to break the news to you but a VP in a bank does not equal relevance.

Lol don't get your hopes up based on rumors on this site. I can assure you no one of any relevance is posting or even visiting this site. I don't know who Op is, but trust me, he/she is absolutely irrelevant.

January 10 is mandatory and, believe it or not, as of this evening the firm is strongly leaning towards going through with it, damn the torpedoes. Unfortunately, due to an unsavory mix of bloated firm bureaucracy and certain stakeholders having painted themselves into a corner, there’s a very high chance the firm will proceed with the RTO and only back down if there are notable outbreaks on campuses. I cannot tell you how I know this, but I’m in a position to. I encourage all of you to ensure you’re boosted and buy good masks—cloth ones are useless, go with paper surgical masks or N95s. Consider taking PTO the first couple weeks of it if you’re extremely risk-averse.

Are we going to wait until no one ever gets sick again before people will accept that we will be required to get up, get in a car and put a decent outfit on 2 or 3 days a week. Will we always find hope of some bird flu coming out and making people catch “something” I personally feel that our lives have been disrupted by the entire conversation since restraints opened up, we can go shopping without a mask and start to live our lives again. No one is concerned about getting sick people care about having to do something they don’t want to do. We have come to bank on saving a hundred a month on gas. Grabbing stuff out of your refrigerator and maybe sitting on your couch and petting your dogs during the day. The only ones that will truly suffer by anyone returning to the office is the dogs that have come to assume their owner will never leave them. If you want to use an excuse and feel bad for anyone it is your poor dogs. Your kids and spouse can’t wait for you to leave

xry+1eoqDwCx.. I totally agree that ignoring the increasing infection rates and sending everyone back to the office is going to most likely be horrible PR for WF... Unfortunately, I have learned to expect poor decision making by our leadership these past however many years.
I really wish they'd be employee/customer concerned and push RTO out... I just don't believe it will happen.

Monday or Tuesday is what I expect when I hear early in the week. Since the OP for that post cannot see in the future, they could be wrong on the timeframe, but with the panic ramping up over the latest variant, I don't see WF enforcing this. It would be bad PR for them to make people go in and we end up having an outbreak in the offices.

xuu+1eoqDwCx.... at what date/time does it stop being early? To me... Monday is early. But I guess it's vague enough to offer people hope to hold onto until like, maybe noon on Tuesday (?)

I don't recall anyone "in the know" committing to a day and time for the announcement.

The wheels are in motion, but as others have stated, these things take time. It's further complicated by the appeals court ruling over the weekend, the subsequent filings with the SCOTUS to reverse that ruling, and the POTUS addressing the nation tomorrow.

I wouldn't expect to see any official announcement before Wednesday at the earliest. When that communication comes out, I hope you will at least apologize for calling out people who are here to offer more real information than the usual nonsense that is posted here.

Most conservative model has 200k cases/day on Jan 15. Could be 7 figures daily. Even when safer, I think the plan doesn't make much sense. I am not impacted personally and have no RTO requirement, but b/c of my personal situation and preferences will likely be in the office 3+ days a week when "safe".

RTO communications sometimes come late in the evening. The whole effort is a massive undertaking and the people involved are currently working long/late hours.

I'm with OP.

Yes, no one should take every single post here as gospel, but when multiple people all confidently state the same thing....and then it doesn't happen...very annoying, to say the least, especially about such a touchy topic for everyone.

(And yes, the day is essentially 'over'. A communication will not be forthcoming, though I wish it was.)

Scott’s welcome back early if you want to email near thanksgiving arrived in my inbox around 10pm. The day is not done. There is no way we are coming back mandatory with how NYC was scrambling this past weekend. The main office is in Hudson Yards, so if transit is anyway impacted by increased cases I don’t care what Scott or Charlie wants to happen it won’t be happening. See you in March at the earliest. For the record they should really just go to TBD because every time they give a date a new variant forms.

I really don’t think we should expect an all out postponement. If they do it again postponing becomes the expectation not the exception. They will keep it rolling but may not enforce it. At some point people will get notices if they never swipe the badges but that part of the enforcement is likely going to be soft. They are waiting to see how the pandemic breaks out and also see how many of those “professionals” act as they deem professional by accepting the guidance and making an effort to look like you are complying. Never go in you will see your name on some report in Q2 or around bonus time and 365 but likely you will see it as a metric next year and they did say as much in the townhall a month or so ago. They have plenty of levers to pull and they are not concerned about attrition. Probably doing a jig

HR said Workplace is very delayed in making updates. HR letter for accomodation and manager acknowledgement is the only thing that matters and you have to go through a whole lot if it is Medical. If it is a location thing then it was probably not a headache

Your location you were assigned is the only one that counts for measuring RTO. This is the only location you are allowed to office out of.
