Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Just five years ago

Just five years ago, I would have never believed that this company would turn into what it is now. If I had known, I would have left long time ago.

In fact, I think that even those who always think that things can only get worse, couldn't have thought that this would become such a miserable company to work at. Who could have thought such thing?

4vun- You forgot the part where the unions went on strike, and were only saved when our first Muslim president gave Lowell and company bl0wj0bs.

We went from Lowell who sold off a lot of buildings and states to pay for dividends. Brought AOL and Yahoo for over 10 billion only to just be sold for 5. Brought BA mobile from Vodaphone at the high price of the British Dollar then went south. And to top it off brought in Hans the terminator of companies

Lowell and the Verizon Wireless crew that moved into corporate and wireline were the smartest people in the room. Their decisions failed us and no one was held accountable. Many got promotions when one director position ballooned into three directors jobs so they could take care of their Wireless friends.

Lowell was the 4th String QB from Airtouch Communications and the reason the Verizon combination included Vodafone.

Lowell never commanded much respect and was responsible for a lot of the boneheaded investments like AOL, Huff Post and Yahoo and the beginning chatter about 5G.

He is also responsible for his replacement. Surprised?

1fiw Lowell took over in 2011. Agree with hanz being an awful CEO, but the division started in 2011. So, Verizon has been a cesspool like you witness on this site for 10 years now, not 5.

Verizon has been a Toxic work environment ever since Hanz took over.
All he cares about is Outsourcing, Offshoring, VSP, RIF aka Layoffs in order to remove the most tenured, talented higher paid employees, in order to pay for 5ghee. This was an Employee first, People first company, but not anymore
Verizon is now the toxic, cesspool of a typical corporation who only cares about $$$ & share holders.

This is why the stock price has not changed much in 5 years. The only employees left in management still think that they are working in Target. This is the most ignorant workforce in the history of the company. It is actually pretty funny.

OP, it’s eons better now than it was five years ago. You bitter because your benefactor left five years ago and your lack of talent and self-improvement leaves no room for advancement?
btw, stop answering your own post .
Also, Hello miserable anti-union guy. You, and your misery - 😄 funny

OP you are right on the money. The once best of the best communications company has become the globalist, social justice warrior playground. Everyday seasoned American telecom execs are pushed out the door and replaced with many foreign and non telecom execs with zero sense of the American market or culture.

But that is what it is about, they want to 'drive' a new culture. Just like DEI. What they don't get is that telecom types have been one of the most diverse businesses for decades; and always did good deeds just because they were good deeds, and that is what God expects from us and what most Americans expect of themselves.

Americans don't pat themselves on the back for being good citizens. Who comes up with this nonsense?

Can’t we all just get along? Would t that be the top tiers worst nightmare? We’re pitted against each other for a reason.
It was better when everyone knew it was bu-----t, now people actually believe the divide.
