Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

If you joined Fiserv recently

Start preparing your resume for your next job right away. Being new doesn't protect you from layoffs. You're just as vulnerable as everybody else.
Know that doing your job well is not considered good enough. You also need to kiss the right behinds if you want to be considered a good employee.
Don't expect to see regular raises, but expect to see your workload increase nevertheless.
Expect to hate your job within a year.

Yep. When I was hired, I was told it was a full time remote position. Now everyone has to be in office everyday. My commute would be 3 hours a day if I were to drive in so obviously I'm not going to waste my time doing so. Thus I will be fired soon.

When I took the job I wasn’t told I’d be trained by someone that was fired. This is about as uncomfortable as it gets. I do not feel good about myself right now

This is, sadly, a not uncommon practice at big companies. These folks are referred to as "sacrificial lambs" - people you are willing to sacrifice in order to keep the main team members in their jobs.

Protip: Many people are hired at Fiserv explicitly to be put up for RIF come the next round.
