Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

A RTO note for the execs - I know many of you are reading TheLayoffs Website

Thank you for the update and the decision not to force people return to the office.
Consider the following:

  1. The economy has permanently changed with Covid
  2. The labor force has permanently changed too
  3. The work is digital nowaways, we can do it remote without problem - we've proven that
  4. Remote work tools have matured, they are stabile and productive - this applies to networks, hardware, software, services - all of them just work therefore enabling us to do work from any corner of the world
  5. Being in the office makes no difference, collab can happen anywhere, on any tool, on any platform, any team, any time
  6. The old style of management via bullying (let me command the room with my physical presence) will not work any more - the new manager needs to be swift, well organized, good with collab tools - yelling behind the closed will not get you promoted any more - nowadays there is trace of every discussion, accept it
  7. Work is measurable now - if you do not believe I am productive while remote, please measured - you can easily count how many ticked I opened or closed, how many customers I took care off, how many projects I've completed, how many files I reviewed, you pick the area and you'll see the results - the minions that hid behind other people's work are in the open now, find them and let them go
  8. You took care of shareholders and executives for decades - now is the time to take care of the worker and the customer - you've been avoiding for decades and now is time to turnin things around - pay us well, we'll reward you wiht an oustanding performance. take care of the customer, they will keep coming. also, take care of our country and of our local communities, it'll pay back big. We'll get nowhere if we keep hiding our profits, not paying taxes, not investing into our communities - we have to do this, this is the smart thing to do - so, you took care of yourself and shareholders now is the time to expand that to all other, now...
  9. Be nice to all people

Have a great holiday!

Someday people will realize that big pharma executives are 10x more evil than those in banking. Why some here implicitly trust one but not the other is something that will fascinate psychologists, sociologists etc. for decades to come.

Excellent point about collaboration happens on many platforms now. My team is spread across the globe, yet we collaborate multiple times per day on IM or standup calls, MS Teams, etc.

Time of the leaders to be 'agile' and realize the changing time, people and tools.

@1sxv+1epekBLD What I am saying is that you guys are blessed that you still have jobs and yet you take it for granted by spending a lot of time in this board and not working. I prefer to RTO than not having a job at all.

Nailed it. Collaborate with who? None of my team is in Charlotte and RTO plans prior to this week’s announcement had me going to an office uptown where I knew no one. I work more hours from home anyway, not to mention saving $200+ in parking fees and 2 hours a day commuting.

Poster did not even mention the Covid pandemic, the new highly contagious Covid variant that can infect both the vaccinated and not vaccinated against Covid employees.
It is the GREAT possibility of getting Covid that is the main reason for the cancel of RTO.

Wow. Laid off by the execs that hated you, yet you still defend them. You’re a special one, aren’t you?

OP should be fired. I see this layoff board lit with the same message over and over again, like it's a full time job. OP is stealing time from the bank. No integrity. I am here because I was laid off from the bank a few months ago.

All in all well said OP. I have a couple of issues but not really worthy of starting a forest fire. Thanks for the post.

well i dont know what yelling behind a closed is, but #8 is not that simple when we are losing so much money on things we cant control from fraud to costs of US employees’ salaries. I know most of us are worth it but offshore is cheaper. I get WF dividends and would like them to go back to what they were but we are all getting the short end of the stick when it cones to costs. Also, the money it’ll take to fix systemic issues is huge, and while that doesn't progress, we lose customers.

Seriously... Wells is trying to balance that fine line between forcing people out of the company and looking like heartless ghouls (which they are) Once they get the green light... Chuckles will gleefully reinstate RTO.

They've only pushed out RTO for those slated for 1/10. There's no appealing to their sense of humanity and/or employee need. The primary consistent trait amongst your high level management is megalomania.
