Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The State of New York will require all employers to publish salary ranges (Starting in April 2022)

Do you think this will be useful for us?

Here is the original story on this:

The range is so wide, worthless information. Lottery numbers are from 0 to 99.

Yes, they will publish the TSR range for the job with the NYC geography adjustment. But we all know that the actual salary offer will be at the low end for anyone D U M B enough to actually consider applying for a Toxic T job under the Stink.

So, in response to a new legal requirement, you're saying T will publish fraudulent salary ranges that are higher than actuals?

That makes ... little sense.

I think most would be surprised to hear new hires are coming in at higher salary ranges than most old timers with the same title. The job market is hot right now. I highly recommend folks apply for some other companies. Most are offering nearly double what I make at T and I’m above midpoint for my job at T. Seriously get out there and apply. You are losing money by not.

Just go to HR One Stop and under Career Intelligence put in any job title and salary range appears this information is available to all employees and always has been?

It's not a secret. it's printed right on the Annual yearly rewards thingy. Shows where you are within the range for your position. They always attempt to hire in the lower range and as time passes they want you within the 50th percentile of the range. Detractors will be lower and promoters will be higher. All depends on your NPS score.

It will only be helpful if someone monitors that people are actually hired within the stated range. If companies post the low end of the scale and then offer a preferred candidate higher, no joy.

This will be useful for everyone. Period. All states should adopt this immediately.
