Sounds like the Jan. 4th deadline remains according to local OR news.

I haven't gotten the covid shots (let's not call them vaccines), but I don't consider myself anti-vax either. I'm the type of person that likes to make my own decisions even if it means "learning the hard way". I'm young(er) and healthy. Having said that, I didn't seek a medical or religious exemption. I haven't received my covid tests in the mail yet (yes, i signed up to receive them). But since I didn't submit for either exemption, will I be placed on unpaid leave on Jan 4 or will they wait until Apr 4? They weren't very clear about this. Guess I'll just have to wait and see...
Go back to re-read the Oregon news piece even. Why did OP twist the news?
they had a Jan. 4 deadline to be vaccinated or seek an exemption, citing a government mandate for federal contractors.
Intel, Oregon’s largest employer, tells unvaccinated employees they may face unpaid leave in April

Go back and read your internal email. The OR newspaper got it wrong.
I recommend that wherever possible, people should get the shot. I also recommend that companies stop forcing their employees to do it unless specific operations (i.e. a meat packing plant) truly call for it.
Great decision! Go Intel!!
Will be interesting watching this drama unfold over coming 3 months.
@gbi, = troll trying to stir the p-t. Do not respond, just downvote his post.
YEP! Bye bye!!!
I just read the article this week too. Sounds like they are citing the federal contractor mandate as a primary reason to use this plan. If you don't want a vaccine at any cost this is probably not the right job for you anymore. I wouldn't waste your money on lawyers, just move into another line of work for a different company that has lower vaccinated standards.
