What computers does Chevron give when you start?
Just curious, is it a HP notebook?

Go check what the latest and greatest Windows-running notebook is and you’ll get it at chevron in about 25 years.
Stripe it! everything runs better and faster with a stripe, it’s science
The last time mine got pretty slow and I thought it was time for an upgrade, it was "stolen" on a business trip. New one was lightning fast!
I wonder if OP is going to turn down the job if the computer doesn’t meet their standards? That would be the most Gen Z thing ever.
The Lenovos are fairly bulletproof. They routinely get dropped in the office but never seem the worse for it.
We had IMB laptops initially, until IBM sold their laptop business to Lenovo (Chinese). The company has stuck with Lenovo since and as far as I know today, it still issues the 14” and 15” Lenovo laptop. They are not bad machines either. I never had any issues or complaints about them. They have enough ‘horsepower’ to get the job done and have a plain black matte finish. For desktop use, the laptop connects into a docking station that allows the use of a full-size keyboard and monitor. Monitors range from basic 18” to much larger screens. Most employees now have a dual-monitor workstation as a standard issue.
The computers are great but after you have to go through 4 firewalls and 3 vpn to access sharepoint it take about 30 min to download a large document. If they make you go to a project file management system plan on 45 min to open every document. Sometimes they crash half way though sometimes not.
Are you posting this on the layoffs boards because you think you'll be laid off right after?
about five levels below whatever is the state of the art right now.
The digital kind. Very agile.
With Cheveron technology pace, you'll likely be getting an abacus.
BYOD! My mac works great
Execs have to massive 12" iPads, just to show up the middle managers! I know a guy who is extremely far-sighted and convinced his boss he needed a larger iPad so he could see stuff on it, haha.
Vic 32 for new hires, Commodore 64 for managers
Wind up computers are great for the environment but the electro- magnetic induction field created by rapid winding creates extraterrestrial forces which are classified as unknown unknowns so in the end you really don’t know what you’re going to get. It could take off like a rocket and then what are you going to do?
It may depend on your roll. General managers mostly use iPads.
Mine is a wind-up computer to reduce CO2 emissions so the faster you wind it up the quicker the processor runs. The problem is at the end of the day I’m exhausted,
I got a new commodore 64 as part of the "transformation".
Dude, you’re getting a Dell!
If yours gets slow just ask IT for an upgrade. They are pretty good about that.
You really should ask your manager about things like this. I see people on here all the time complaining about management communications, or the lack thereof... and then I see posts like this and just shake my head. It's a 2-way street.
lenovo globally
depends on what your role is - you'll likely get a lenovo i7 laptop
I am asking because I am working at Chevron soon.. and want to know what computer they will provide me?
The old work computers I was given are Dell laptops with intel i5 processor and they get really slow after awhile.
Mine is a Tandy 1000.
Why are you asking. Are you a troll?
