Kinda hard to be colocated with a group that is geographically dispersed because it has to be to be near customers. I mean, I guess they could hire some pleebs to sit in an office with me, but there'd be nothing for them to do so, yeah.
Pre Saul and Charlie our bosses could make the decision and usually it was a family issue or the most popular one “none of my team and i are co-located” so what is the point. Well on the last town hall that message was heard and Saul responded as did Scott Powell. 100,000 people have been in office through COVID. There are over 250,000 people. I am not co located but there are partner businesses located in the buildings. Spread your network. However, what all this “i am not located with my team is leading to” LOCATION strategy. Remember that. It has not left. Saul brought it up. RTO one strategy then the remote force that is remote because of their distance starts getting packages like PRE COVID. Lots of people were let go because of Location. So if we keep raising that “we are not co located” as the reason to justify working from home. The Operating Committee and Execs have an answer. Great idea. You must be in a “OPEN” location or you are out of a job. Location strategy has simply been back burnered until RTO is complete. If you want to work remote and guaranteee it then work on a HR accomodation. If not you will not have to worry about RTO for long. Fortunately we all have a STAY from RTO but no STAY in planned displacements
Some of us didn't though. It's not an unreasonable request, at all, unless your job was always remote. Then it is.
I know this won’t be a popular position but pre COVID everyone just went to work and most had some flexibility. Now it is as if there is some insane request to have people return to the office. I get people would like to stay remote because they see a benefit to their pocket book. I would also say that people may not be looking at the other consequences of getting into a work routine. I personally think i am more productive in office. I might work more hours at home but i can assure you i will have far less skype chatter and just work. When i leave the office i leave the office. Now i am never away from the office and it takes up a room in my house.
This is a layoff site. I would be way more worried about getting layed off right now then RTO. We all know we have a very big cost reductionist ho-e in technology. The last thing to be worried about is RTO. I would say that those that can leave should. Easier to find a job when you have a job. More bargaining power. Out of a job well you will need a job and maybe it will be good
Ok, CPG.
I've dealt with CPG for many years, and they are consistently anti-employee in everything they do. In big changes, and in small interactions over small matters. It's often spiteful nonsense. They are always looking for excuses to torment other business groups. If you want us to believe that they are merely the camp guards, ok, but I'm not buying that they are on anyone's side but their own. They've simply screwed over fellow employees way to much and for way to long for me to believe otherwise.

LISTEN! It has nothing to do with CPG. The Operating Committee voted for RTO. Word on the street was a few months ago it was brought to the OC attention that employees were not happy about the three day in office approach, cancelling contracts, etc. MM responded to the reporting executive with surprise saying something on the lines that it was more competitive than JPM, etc. and all believed they are so generous offering 2 days remote. It’s OC calling the shots not some SVP in CPG. Get your facts straight. If you do not know who the OC is then you have no business commenting on subjects
@xpj, so agree. No wonder we are the most archaic bank in the world. Their focus is on forcing employees back into the office in a remote world. That is it.
We are better together! Such BS. It has been so nice not to be subjected to the bullies and the gossips. It has been so fantastic not to have to see that one (wo)man (her cohort retired). And I am hoping that I will never have to see or hear her ever again!
It's amazing how much time and money is wasted getting to an office you don't need to be in. Fuel, wear/tear on a car, wasted time, the health impact of the commute aggravation, accidents, getting ready to leave the house, showering daily, washing clothes way more often, packing lunches, and on and on, and then on the way home you have a lot of the same stuff, just in reverse. Many people burn a couple hours a day doing all this stuff each day, and of course the $ spent is never coming back. Huge waste of resources, especially for no benefit on the backend.
In spite of what many RTO haters suggest, there are jobs where in person collaboration would be beneficial. The problem is, instead of identifying those and using a targeted approach, they went with the one size fits none plan and just want to throw everyone back in the office. If we went targeted, we could probably reduce out sq ft needs by at least 50%, if not more. Sounds like that could save a lot of $, but those vile back stabbers in CPG have to justify their existence somehow, so here we are. That group needs to go. Contract most of it and move on. They only hinder progress and waste money.
You can probably go pantless if you keep your robe on. Of course going barefoot will be a no-no so plan on bringing slippers.
It's my right and choice to not wear pants. You can't make me wear pants and it'll cost me more money to buy pants. I used to wear pants two years ago, bit now I'm set in my ways and I can't go back. WFC need to get with the times in this new no pants era
