And yes, my money is where my mouth is. I've left (yes I still check in here as I am curious how bad it is now). Took a job that pays less but is less responsibility and way better work environment. All in all a great trade up.

There’s never any layoff material so i’m not sure why anyone comes here for anything else. I just answer randomly to the hr questions just to get people going.

You sound kind of miserable yourself and if you've left but you're still trolling this site, maybe it's time to reevaluate what you're doing with your life. Nobody misses you.
The same reason I don't quit any other month of the year, I love you job and the benefits outweigh the negatives. Move on with your life OP--it's allegedly great and stuff.

No college degree at all here. But moved to a big tech company and making over $275K a year in compensation. Work from home permanently.
Three weeks vacation. Another week in one year. Not bad! Lots of holidays and flexibility with scheduling hours and working when you want.
Don’t put yourself down. Don’t feel stuck. Don’t keep working somewhere you hate or don’t like.
I can't afford to retire yet and I don't have a four-year degree to get past recruiter/hiring manager filters. Despite having a ton more experience than any of their new hires will have. I also recently heard about a manager I used to work closely with who finally just got a job after 13 months of looking, after their WF layoff. This person is way more qualified than me, and took that long, with multiple networks working for them (I'm not that social), and multiple hundreds of resumes submitted.
I'm going to have a much harder time than that, despite glowing reviews for me.
I like being able to take weeks off when my kids are out of school. Going down to 2 weeks of paid vacation would impact that.
Plus, I have a great work-life balance being fully remote, with a manager who understands getting work done vs being at the desk 8 hours a day.
I still hate working here, but all things considered, it could be a lot worse.
So, at least for now, WF is paying for me to go back to school. On top of my already hectic life.
Yeah, it's generally the dead wood complaining around here. There are thousands upon thousands of happy, productive folks still on the job and going nowhere.

Can’t you find another layoff board somewhere? Here on this board the topics are more wide ranging and we all learn a lot about WF… they don’t exactly announce the stuff we learn here…

Hanging on until I retire in 2022. I've already picked the date. If I get laid off before then, it's a plus.
Why should i quit? Making 150k to update spreadsheets working from home with no debt, tons of pto, great team and manager. Not sure why i should leave.

I'm on this site because it's hilarious to read about the whining. I am not quiting in Feb because I have a cool boss and make decent $.
Because I've been here 20 + years, am somewhat fairly compensated for my efforts and , for now at least, have an ongoing medical accommodation that allows me to work from home.
My job can be challenging, frustrating and dull in the extreme but at some point, many of us begin to identify with our jobs and it's scary to picture the future differently.
And to everyone who'll tell me to get a life.... I have a wonderful, crazy, travel filled adventurous life.. in my off hours. Unfortunately, I can't turn the special times into day to day existence. Cudo's to you if you can but employment and helping people gave my every day existence a level of satisfaction that I'm not sure how to recreate/ fill if I retire
OP here; still making over $100k working for a company outside of banking with zero debt. My life is good. Just trying to understand while people who say they are miserable (as opposed to the two who replied that are just miserable excuses for human beings) stay in such a toxic environment.
Sounds like someone is unhappy with their smaller paycheck.
Get a life and go be “happy” at your new job. Good grief!!
