Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Can somebody tell me how the Glassdoor reputation scores are so easily manipulated?

Do you trust the company reputation scores which Glassdoor maintain and updates?
I used to work for horribly managed company, it had the worst management I have seen in my 20+ years career as software engineer. The management was making absolutely insane decisions which were favoring particular subgroup of engineers based on ethnicity and nationality.. I received not so subtle hint that I won't be let to contribute in the way I expected to the main codebase and as a result I left the company and left scathing review on Glassdoor. At the time I left the reputation of the company was 3.2. Now more than an year and half later with the same management the reputation is 4.0. I wonder how the management was able to di---e the Glassdoor score so quickly... It seems they hired a whole division of employees who they forced the leave a review before they left the company... If you ask me Glassdoor should allow employees to leave reviews only for companies in which they HAVE WORKED PREVIOUSLY, not the current one. Otherwise this score can be diddled and biased..

Like others, I too tried to leave a professional review about several negative aspects regarding culture at Dell, including age discrimination and racial bias. Glassdoor never made my comments public. Very sad. And I am certain Dell is paying Glassdoor some kind of premium to keep their score above 4.

Once again! NOT FOR A LAYOFF SITE. Who gives a flip about Glassdoor? We all know it's BS anyway!
Signed, a TRUE VICTIM OF WFR!

The best part is that an employer can delete reviews, too. I have left a truthful negative review that was very honest and mature when I made criticism... and it was deleted.

Censorship at its finest.

That's why I don't use Glassdoor anymore. They also require you to leave a review once a year to access reviews for other companies. A lot are fake anyways and I know management uploads a bunch of fake reviews to cover the negative ones that are true.

The job openings on their site are outdated anyways. I saw some "new" job openings that were posted a month ago on Indeed and employer probably no longer taking applicants. Useless site.

Its simple 90% of Dell employees like I get paid to fake work.

Or Management is faking skills.

I worked for a company once that makes leaving a very positive Glassdoor review part of their onboarding for new employees. Most of these are fresh grads, willing to do 'whatever' in this exciting new role. Lots of companies do similar, either having their new hires do it, or hiring others to do it. But try to prove it. That's the double-edged sword of anonymity.
