I was able to see some Job Postings yesterday (can’t see today) Looking at the P levels.
There was Senior than Lead and then the 3rd being Senior Lead than up to Professional which was a P6 so if i count backwards i would guess a P3 is somewhat similar to a Consultant 4 or 5 a consultant P3 and P4 P5 would be a BSC 6 and a Profession would be a P6. So to me it just seems that possibly the P Levels are one level lower than what you were in the beginning regardless of Job title. A Senior Tech Bus Consultant would be a P3 Lead P4 Senior Lead P5 and Professional P6
So the debate on which is better Senior or Lead - Lead is higher but higher than that is the Senior Lead
“ So we have had to tell people titles, but can't answer any questions about comp because that hasn't been shared except in HR and at business level OC+1.”
Interesting statement. I thought job title are changing, but salaries are not changing due to job architecture. Or is this not correct?
BTW, @1jop+1eyj84Pb, thank you so much for sharing all the those details! Very helpful!
titles and arch - just more stupid is as stupid does. they pretend to pay us and we pretend to work.
"On the Job Architecture pdf that is widely available, it refers to the levels as P1-P6 and M1-M8 (Professional and Manager profiles)."
Yes, perhaps I should have said it another way. The titles themselves don't have numbers (e.g. "analytic consultant 4") But there are these overall "P", "M" and "S" levels. Different documents about the job arch. may or may not have those, and it may or may not show in various online profiles.
“ technically the new levels don't have numbers”
While they will not have Business Systems Consultant 4 anymore, they do have numbers assigned to the levels. On the Job Architecture pdf that is widely available, it refers to the levels as P1-P6 and M1-M8 (Professional and Manager profiles).
Manager here, business side - had visibility into this process all year. To address some of the comments/questions on this thread:
The job families were determined in collaboration with business functional input, it wasn't something that HR just made up. That said, there was a lot of feedback about things that were confusing and or uncompetitive that were not addressed. The confusion about things like "lead" and "senior" someone mentioned is one example of that.
You can't compare a "3" of some old job grade to the number of new levels in any of the new families, because numerically they will not mean anything (technically the new levels don't have numbers but of course if there are 5 levels of a job subfamily, people will just count on their own and assign a number mentally). The problem is with our old job families - which were inconsistent about what different levels meant between job families. Allegedly the new job families will be more internally consistent but that remains to be seen in practice.
How the rollout of this has been handled is terrible. The new titles had to be "revealed" to people in late november because of the Workday technology changeover happening at year end. So we have had to tell people titles, but can't answer any questions about comp because that hasn't been shared except in HR and at business level OC+1.
It's really been a giant cluster and yet another way that the company creates ill will and suspicion among employees due to the lack of transparency.
Lead is pretty much always higher than senior.
Competency levels assigned are a joke. Who determined those?
@1qkt+1eyj84Pb was it the senior executives or the lead executives?
Direct managers had no inout. Snr Execs in each LOB did have input.
layoff site says what?
"doesn’t have any pay scales"
Those won't be published until January.
I’ve seen the chart with levels but it doesn’t have any pay scales
Type in job architecture and pull up the ppt. It has a chart with levels.
I feel like I'm getting screwed as does not correlate to how my current job ranks. If my job rank is 3 out of 3 max now, why should I be a 2 out of a 6 max?
On another note, I'm told these jobs were strictly done by HR with no manager input.
Isn't Lead pretty commonly understood to be higher than Senior, not just at Wells but most places?
Senior definitely sounds better than Lead, but I would rather have the Lead pay.
I’m dying to figure out the range for my job family… has anyone found a way to see it yet?
Some people think going from Snr to Lead is worse because Snr sounds better, regardless of what the mapping levels say.
@ief+1eyj84Pb
What does "getting screwed in the mapping: mean? Legit curious.
There is a brand new website called dictionary.com you might not have heard of it, so that is okay to ask. Just enter in any word you are interested in learning more about and it will help you.

You're seriously asking? Is English a second language for you?
Whats the difference between foundational and proficient?
Thanks.....I just checked it out. My manager had no clue of the details I just saw there when asked earlier. Yes, I am getting screwed in the mapping.
You don’t have to search. Personal Information is on the sidebar under Shortcuts.
