Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Has attrition slowed down or people just waiting for new year?

Anyone know what the 2021 attrition is set to be?

I’ve seen a couple of people on LinkedIn with their last day in late Dec. Why in the world would they not wait another week or two and leave on January to collect vacation payout?

Lot's of people applying to grad school and MBA/Law programs. Much more August attrition expected also.

I was in outstanding with a CL bump and I am out Q1. Place is full of a-holes and there’s no vision for the business to evolve. If you stick around just learn how to good in the circle jerk as it’ll just be who is good at politics that gets to milk rhe last of the cash from our mobil assets.

@1hcf+1eyy91vC... That'll be another US only benefit that those of us in the rest of the world don't get 😁

In the USA, one earns ALL the vacation on January 1, it’s not prorated. If someone quits, they get all their vacation, the carry over vacation from previous year (if any), all paid.

Won't the company Prorate the annual vacations according to the date of resignation and pay only for those vacations?
For eg. If annual vacation is entitlement is 24 days and someone resigns on March 31, won't they pay only for 6 vacations days?
I have seen that happening here at BTC.

A lot of people I know waited for their salary communication before looking. Then once they got the terribly sad number they started seriously looking and interviewing. Between now and March there’ll be a surge.

Everyone’s waiting to get their vacation entitlement for 2022 before resigning. I personally know 2 people doing this.
