Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Lifestyle company reports $124B revenue and net income of $34.6B

Pat is mocking Apple by naming lifestyle company. He should look at today's Apple earnings and learn instead of making mockery of himself naming Apple lifestyle company.

@nsm Andy Grove is the reason why we have all these junk CEOs

@1obp+1f0aH5GH The great ACT was a failure of the BoD and that BoD continues to fail in governance.

BK was a clown and when the BoD made their demands BK was too much over his head and desperate to save his own di-k to oppose their request. To think layoffs and cost cutting was the path back to greatness just shows how lost the BoD is

Their sad search landed in Bob, a great persons but the wrong person at the wrong time.

Don’t forget how bad Intel situation is, even Pat didn’t want the job, but with no takers the BoD gave Pat all the powers to do what he wants, very dangerous and perilous, as now Pat is a pretty cheerleader arranging the deck chairs and making all this pretty music till intelanic sinks.

@1flt+1f0aH5GH. Not only the ACT 2015/16 eliminated a lot of competent people, it also triggered a low morale among engineers, constantly feared for their jobs (bad FOCAL process) and eventually led to more departures. And the 2015/16 lay-offs were NOT due to company financial hardship, it was BK's poor assessment.

@1jgo+1f0aH5GH Jack Welch was also lauded as one of the greatest CEOs and supposedly created a management training machine the envy of the world, look at the dud that came after and also those promising ones that left to run other companies into the ground and lastly what GE is now.

I think the Intels narrative is going to run a similar course with the initiates PG is pushing, FUBAR

Andy Grove is universally lauded for his success as the most important CEO of Intel, but he sucked at mentoring and grooming the pipeline after him. All these duds claimed to be personally mentored by Grove: PSO, BK, RJ, PG. Like the great emperors of yore, I think he just elevated the sycophants because he liked getting his a-s kissed. He should have been more paranoid of the "Technical Assistants" (d-mb Intel invention) that he was grooming.

Thanks Intel for laying off your best people!

Sincerely,
Apple, Nvidia, AMD

Completely agree! The rise in Apple's chip design prowess and success was also partly due to the extremely poor management decisions at Intel, made at all levels from FLMs to the CEO, that lead to the talent bleed. The layoffs in 2015/16 were great examples, how many of the "over 50 crowd" went on to have great careers at other companies and meaningfully contributed to the successes at those companies?

Murthy you had to force out, Jim Keller left for "personal reasons."

@pjf well said. Intel is getting junk CEOs after Andy Grove. Andy Grove was last CEO who cared about Intel and had vision.

The lifestyle company has become a leadership chip company as the core of their products comes from leadership semiconductors. What make the iPhone and Macs and iPads magical is the silicon.

Luck Apple didn’t want to do cloud or HPC or Intel really would be dead. They now compete with AMD and Nvidia and in both cases are putting a Can of Whoop @ss on Intel

I’d say the lifestyle company as is every other tech company is also putting a Can of Whoop @ss on Intel. There seems to be only one company with contracting financials in this bo-m time, a sure Can of Whoop @ss.

Wonder how much longer the BoD can allow this to happen? Pat already is trying to lobby a five year window, I don’t think Intel has five years going this strategy, if it does and actually tries to build those 40B+ fabs in Arizona and Ohio they will become Intel’s tomb stones

Other CEOs like the CHIPs push but has any other CEO been as loud and beggar as Pat?
