Been seeing some roles on various jobs board which are mainly in risk, controls, trading technology and some business management/pm type of roles. Wondering how is this LOB compared to the larger banks ? I am considering applying but when I went through the recent financials the Wells Fargo CIB business looks embarrassing compared to the likes of JPM, Citi, BOA etc.
I have heard that they want to grow this space but their technology and front line staff are majority Wachovia which are not competitive in todays day and age where scale and technology ends up being a huge differentiator, especially for sales and trading
Additionally, when it comes to traditional investment banking it seems like Wells Fargo is not even on the list.
Are there layoffs in this business ? I doubt how this LOB will grow given the cost pressures for Wells, Charlie’s non CIB background and the overall low rankings in the league tables. Any insight would be appreciated.
