@1mle It’s mostly older men working in middle-management who want everyone back in the office. The minor perks that come with any middle-management job drop off completely in a remote work setting. They also have to justify remaining on the payroll. Many contributors have become self-managing while working remotely, making middle-management positions largely superfluous.

@2wqe+1f0itDFD Because I can choose a less busy time of the evening to do grocery shopping for 30 minutes, as opposed to having to be F2F with disrespectful back stabbing id--ts at an Exxon office for 8 hours.

@2wqe+1f0itDFD - good luck with those outdated preconceptions. Give individuals the respect and trust to do what's right for them.

And if their job isn't demanding more than 2 hours of effective and efficient effort per day, then that's supervision's deficiency.

I went back to the office May 2020.

Any job that can be done remote will be first on the list to outboard. Be careful what you wish for.

I don’t get the mentality that’s it’s safe to go to the grocery store but the office is super scary.

Or do you want to sit at home in you bunny slippers and underwear pretending to work more than 2-4 hours a day.

Same thing on the other side of the Channel. Everybody get back to the office from 2 Feb. New omicron cases are in between 300-500k every day, but we don't give a f*ck, “We are ExxonMobil”...

Lol. At one of the first meet the executives meetings XTO employees had post merger, one of the XTO people asked if only people with English accents are permitted to become executives. God bless those XTO people and their say what they want to say attitudes.

@1agt+1f0itDFD - perhaps because that individual doesn't work in India?

Do you work in India?

@1mle+1f0itDFD If you’re so happy working from home why not work from India? You can even claim 80% savings on your next PDS.

In a couple of years, XOM will acknowledge people want to work from home. Until then, we will have no direction.

My group went back to the campus in Sept 2020. Maybe you are still WFH but EM like most companies will have staff returning to work.

People are still WFH? No wonder this company is going down. When I was working at EMHC, I went back to campus on 31st, ... 31st May 2020.

We employ people in UK because the farmers in Texas love to promote British accents to executive positions. It is this freaking 1776 taboo I guess.
Just count the UK presidents in EM.
Never understood why there is no discrimination lawsuit.

I can only assume they are making this move to encourage all those remaining people with less than 10 years experience to leave. I can't find any other credible reason for the directness of that email.

Maybe they are looking to make room to move the excess EMEEL people onto the refinery after CS&I .................

You have a LCM who proudly claimed on LinkedIn when he took over that the UK had the best people, projects and assets while firing the former, getting funding cut for the second, and divesting the latter.
