Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Re LinkedIn posts

Seeing a lot of LinkedIn posts from managers and employees. Are these people getting legal approval prior to posting this content on social media? Typically it's a huge effort to release any company information publicly as it needs to be approved by law and higher management

Those posting on LI to lift the image of a decaying company are the people “making difficult decisions” and “standing up for what’s right” ?!
Their “difficult decision” is if to brown nose or to do boot licking. They don’t have to stand for either one.

Anyone that posts personal social media bs promoting the company are just the worst. They haven’t had a drink of the Koolaid, they have an IV filled with Dallas’s finest vintage. Get off you knees and wipe your mouths.

I've seen a presentation on improving morale/retention that directed people to post to LI to create pride in what we do. Yes, this kind of groveling is oleaginous.

Any post that tries to make EM look good, no matter how cringe worthy, even outright disgusting in its servility is welcome. The intent matters; even if the result is actually the opposite (people get disgusted or even upset reading those posts), it shows what EM values most: blind loyalty in the management class.

No they aren’t getting approval. They just are intelligent enough to understand what you should and should not post.

If you are afraid to post on LinkedIn you are part of the problem. Keep cowering in your office afraid. Grow a spine people. If you’re too afraid to even post on LinkedIn I have zero confidence in your ability to lead, make a difficult decision, or stand up for what you think is right.

@OP+1f0zWIgM - there is guidelines on how to post on social media..whether they read it that is another story :p as far as I know, managers are encouraged to use LI platform to attract young talents and to provide positive publicity for the company...as long as you just shared whatever being post on EM official page, it should be fine...the company images has been tarnished so badly by the management that now they want the managers (part of the tribe) to fix it...have you ever seen DW or KM post on LI ? :p
