Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Any organizations considering layoffs in 1Q?

They've had time to count how many left because of healthcare subsidies going away and Stankey stated we aren't done with expense reductions. Rumor is 10% employee reduction needed . Some organizations are understaffed and some are overstaffed so how will they do the reduction??

Our AVP said we need to reduce 10%. They hope natural attrition will handle it but if not there is no word how we cut back. Hiring is frozen right now

No layoffs in my organization in the West. As a matter of fact, there are 2 open reqs for more personnel even though there is not enough work to support the additional people.

As management keeps driving employees and customers off, eventually there won't be anything left to this company. And the world will be a better place as a result.

it is cesspool att there will always be layoffs it is a way of life and how they run the company. why anybody stays there is beyond because you have to be insane or think you are the smartest person in the world in your own mind.

I have been tracking total employment numbers since 2018 from the Quarterly 8-K Financial reports:
12/31/18....268,220
12/31/19....247,800
12/31/20....230,760
12/31/21....202,600

That's 66,000 in four years from layoffs, selling assets, retirements, leaving the company, etc.

We all have great disdain for Stankey, Stephenson, and Santone. They are losers, taking every step possible for enriching themselves at the expense of rank and file. AT&T will never recover with these id--ts trying to run the show. They all need to be kicked to the curb.

OP: Your continued childish references to people....Ratty, Stinky, Blondie are so way out of line. We get it, you have great disdain for ATT's leadership, (jealousy) and wish and pray for their failure in every category. Perhaps that explains why you probably were either fired or first on the list to get the kick. People with your attitude never go very far because they can't handle the challenges of many things like working for a major corporation. But remember.... derogatory comments (name calling) should be avoided if you expect your 'opinions' to be responded to in an intelligent way. You're not grandstanding nor do you sound like a person anyone should take seriously. You sound juvenile and unintelligent.

I saw some retirement announcements for March 2022. I assume they want to get their bonus paid before retiring? Is that why they are not waiting to see if any MVO is offered?

Our organization is holding off on replacements with few exceptions. Not sure we can meet headcount goals through attrition. If some can't meet it through attrition then we will see a company action and the fear is it hits all groups regardless of headcount vs budget

Honestly, I was shocked that Blondie Ratbert Stalone and the Stink did not announce more take-aways in December 2021, well except for the expected end of the DTV discount this month. The list of take-aways is too ripe and juicy for them to pass up.

My organization lost 5% of their management and is (trying) to hire replacements. Of course the higher ups claim there are no layoffs on the horizon because they are so low on staff right now, but that will change quickly if the Stink tells them otherwise. I know if their mouths are moving they are lying.

I am going to hazard a guess that whatever services are being retired will be targeted for the next round of the Stink whackings.

What organization will NOT be hit at all will be all the C-Suite executives that were created in ATT INC even though they will not be needed anymore after the spinoffs are completed. And I mean the Stink too! They are just too precious!

But I firmly believe the Stink is a mentally ill megalomaniac and he will be unable to resits S C R E W I N G more US based employees over this year. I hope I am wrong.
