Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Just stopped by to see that it still sucks at WF

I left this Circus in 2021, and I have ZERO regrets. I periodically check this site to see that it's still miserable there (no surprise). All kinds of posts about poor raises and bonuses, why does that shock anyone who works at a company that has literally made it known they want to drive natural, voluntary attrition to reduce headcount?!

Literally, they might as well say they hope to pizz off as many people as they can so they quit which means less severance cost for the greedy shareholders and executives!

God almighty, I can relate to what it feels like because I lived and worked there for years and it eats at your soul. I have empathy for every one of you, don't get me wrong. I finally got my last W2 in the mail last week and am excited to do my taxes to finally never have to deal with a W2 from them again and try to wipe the whole working experience out of my mind. It still pizzes me off when I think about it.

I worked there through the sales practices fiasco through great embarrassment to tell anyone I worked at WF. I watched Carrie T. get to retire with millions, along with John S. So Sickening! And them pay literally billions in fines over numerous, egregious risk failures. I watched internal audit executives bully and minimize their roles in managing risk and providing accountability to those former disgraced executives.

Then in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 it all turned on the average employee where we all got told to tighten your belts, squeeze a red cent out of everything, don't travel, don't buy supplies, buckle up, no more lunches out with the team on the Commercial Card, etc. Could it be more insulting to those of you and us who had NOTHING to do with all that cr-p except the mere fact we came to work at a seriously flawed organization?! They have NO RESPECT FOR ANY OF YOU or ME, or anyone else.

We all got told in our line of business in early 2021 to "do more with less", I kid you not. "Do more with less" how tone deaf of anyone who dare calls themselves a leader to tell people that who already did more with less for years while all that nonsense was going on! Real leaders support their people and relate to them, not at WF! These people are arrogant, disrespectful, don't give a damn! It's nearly tantamount to a man beating his wife at home and abusing her, then telling her the next night when he comes home to "do more with less." How tone deaf are these people! If this stuff doesn't pizz you off, you either haven't had your belly full of enough of it or lack core values, because its sickening!

I wouldn't recommend this Schitt Show to a single soul!

“Tripled your salary? Were you working for minimum wage or something? Certainly does not sound like white collar”

Nope. Was in upper management. My boss never gave me raises because I was “at the top of my band” and I was being “paid market rate.” Nope! Started interviewing with competitors and guess what… we are grossly underpaid. I went to a competitor and they tripled my salary. If it feels better for you to think I work entry level, fine. I don’t care. I’m laughing all the way to the bank. You should too. There’s so much more out there. Better benefits, better pay, better everything. Get out!

Tripled your salary? Were you working for minimum wage or something? Certainly does not sound like white collar.

Hi! I am another one who quit in 2021. New employer TRIPLED my salary and I get six weeks vacation + better benefits overall. My WF manager treated me like dirt and acted like I was making the biggest mistake of my life when I left. Ha ha ha! Joke is on you, pal! I’m now making double what you are. I love pay day.

You must have been in marketing. Nobody else could generate that much nonsense and still say nothing.

Totally agree with OP. I left after 20 years in 2021 and feel exactly the same way.

Checks a layoff site expecting to see something other than negative news? That’s like watching CNN or Fox News and expecting to see impartial views.

I guess you missed half the comments about how raises and bonuses were good this year. But you pick and choose as you like.
