Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Bought for $108B and sold for $43B

John Stankey and T "leadership" are the absolute worst of the worst. No other company in America has taken on the debt that T did while at the same time purchasing a company they had no business buying only to sell it for less than half the price they paid for it a few years later. I'd like to add that for anyone who is competent and reading this, GET OUT NOW!!! Trust me, you will love working for someone other than this company. The grass truly is greener when you compare to T just anyone else out there.

I left 6 or so years ago and swung by to see what everyone is saying about div cut, Disc, etc.. while working there for nearly a decade, I had always said the company was doomed. It was blatantly obvious under Randall and then Stink. I enjoyed the position, but am glad to be free of the chaos now. All I hope now is that every tech gets out unscathed. There is life after...a much better life. Good Luck.

How many layoffs could have been prevented with that $65 billion that just went up in smoke? How much could AT&T have expanded their fiber footprint over the past decade with $65 billion, instead of playing movie-mogul, buying old cable & satellite provider technology - at the same time that everyone in America was cutting the cord in favor of streaming services. As usual, the board of out-of-touch geezers is a day late and a dollar short!

This sounds like it really isn't a good deal if it is true.

“ Hey, to the guy who mentioned a 142% payout...enjoy your $7500 after taxes“

Well, I’ve been here quite a while. Should be double that, maybe a little more.

“ I make that every 2 weeks in my new gig”

Doubtful. You were laid off from here because you were a low performer. Somehow I doubt that’s changed.

“Loser”

I’m not the guy spending all this time on a Layoff board of a corporation I was laid off from a couple years ago.

“ How is the upper management of this company allowed to keep their job’s?”

You ever notice how executives from our company are on the boards of other companies and vice versa? They all look out for one another. They won’t vote each other out without running the risk of creating an enemy on their board. Conflicts of interests? Absolutely all over the place. It’s a big club and none of us are in it.

Hopefully the entire corporation goes under. Too many left wing fringe employees trying to push their agenda. I got my lump sum. I have no need for their continued survival.

Man this "greener grass" guy sure does spend a lot of time on here for someone so happy at his new job.
Hey "greener grass" guy...we're getting a 142% bonus payout and I'm working in my pajamas today. Beats digging ditches for a living.
