Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

AMD wow oh wow!

If you look at AMD results you’d almost think the two companies don’t even compete in the same segment.

Gross Margin, Revenue and every metric up besting every forecast

Last I check it’s all execution, great products on leadership process is the key, not government handouts.

How much does AMD spend on RD compared to Intel?

I’d almost think they have a better business model!

How does a company with so much dominant market share, competitive advantage of IDM see plummeting GM and flats revenue while a smaller competitor sees such revenue growth and exploding margins?

One has the far better business model while the other is a dinosaur going to extinction.

Go back and look at Motorola and Nokia or Blackberry in phones, IBM in mainframes.

Pat and managers talk a good smoke and mirrors story as they have to, and paid so much to spin the story, but it is past the pivot point for Intel and Intel is on a totally fools strategy of IDM and Foundry.

Samsung and TSMc alone with AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Apple, Microsoft, Meta, Tesla, Amazon are who they are competing with. Think again about those companies, their collective chip needs and effort and who Intel is competing against.

If the strategy was solid govern Intels size they’d not need government money. Their own RD and size is big enough to sustain and grow the business, sadly it isn’t and they all know, and thus beggar Pat.

Pat and has no clothes.

AMD Gross Margin: from 27% (2016) to 48% (2021)
Intel Gross Margin: from 63% (2016) to 53% (2021)

Intel is such a poorly run company.
Too late to save it I’m afraid.

Obviously you’re blind to the TREND.
AMD seeing explosive growth vs. Intel no-growth. Let’s look at those revenue compares in a few years as AMD continues its torrid growth.

AMD is taking advantage of TSMC’s superior tech to lay a beat down on Intel with their dead weight lagging fabs.

Intel posted about 20 billion in Rev in Q4, AMD posted 4.8 billion, don't see AMD a threat. So in one Qtr Intel makes what takes AMD to make in a year.

Intel is so screwed 5nm products coming, expect 5-10% improvement and power reduction. Makes for even more pain and margin pressure

What is amazing AMD has nearly same margin as Intel and at the same time gave TSMC similar margin, really says how sorry TMG and IDM model is FUBAR

AMD is rising and Intel is declining. It is that simple. It's going to continue this way for years...
