Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Employees fired for not getting a COVID-19 vaccine to be compensated financially if Arizona bill becomes law

The suspension appears to be extended without any end date, but this will obviously put some pressure on Honeywell. It looks like all the Pure Bloods will get to enjoy a well funded year of paid vacation here very soon if Honeywell continues with their mandate.

I reached out to my Manager, and it appears that they are being ghosted right now by HR. I was told by that a final decision should be coming in the next week or two.

Yea, I'm in Arizona and as much as I'd like to see it happen I wouldn't count on this bill passing. See the link for the biggest employers in AZ and how many of them are in the healthcare field. Most of them have vaccine mandates for continued employment and have already let the unvaccinated folks go. I guarantee they will have a large influence with the state legislature and governor as to whether the bill goes anywhere. Big business money has a large voice on legislative decisions at all levels.

It would remain to be seen that if even if it passed whether it could legally be made retroactive as @1ayw stated in an earlier post.

Sorry to harsh your mellow.

Actually Please note per bill:
Sec. 2. Retroactivity
Section 23-207, Arizona Revised Statutes, as added by this act, applies retroactively to from and after November 30, 2021.

Note that this is a proposed bill not a law (yet). Also note that they can’t make a law retroactive and force companies to pay back in time. If it’s Govt compensation coming out of the State then they can do whatever they want. But they wouldn’t be able to make Honeywell pay.

Note to self, check the early payoff on mortgage to use in bargaining with HON for the pro bono out of court settlement.
