Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

HQ move was the last step before the mega merger

Honestly I think the move from Dallas is to get our company ready for a merger with Chevron. They can close the Cali HQ and HEMC will be the Death Star !

It won’t be a merger. We are going to buy you out, break you up and divest you in order to comply with FTC negotiated requirement to avoid our buyout being subjected to anti-trust or monopoly violations. We the victorious will then profit like no tomorrow. Bye-bye 👋🏼

Could it be preparation to consolidate all to Houston prior to purchasing a smaller Houston based O&G company?

There will be no discussions regarding a merger of Chevron and XOM until crude prices drop below $35 per barrel.

The Federal Trade Commission will flag a merger of Chevron and XOM as a monopoly (especially Upstream Oil and Gas) in the United States.
