Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

No cuts are needed

I don’t think any cuts are needed given how many people are leaving and given how many people intend to leave. In the past two months, more of my colleagues have left than ever before. So I can't believe that cuts could happen soon? That would be a big, big mistake.

There are a lot of useless managers though...

@6qno+1f82ene6 +1, I have a Schwab veteran 58 I'd take a pay cut to eliminate.

More appropriate to call the next round “the great circumcision”.

Only thing being cut is all the perks on the green side for employees. How about we start charging for breakroom coffee and concessions in the break room so two buck chuck can get a 2nd yacht bigger than Bezos. Wouldn't that be neat??

The only thing they will be cutting is cutting the Gs. Cutting gas. Methane with sulfur.

You might be right that there will be no cuts. Take a look at this post in the previous thread that totally clarifies this.

I’m on a project with at least 20 different PMs asking for the same info. So many useless people trying to justify their existence. All have senior manager titles. 50+ conf calls are the norm where you have id10ts talking about topics they know nothing about.

Make a plan meetings? It’s a fancy way to describe let’s meet to discuss what we are going to meet about. Schwab is truly a Dilbert cartoon in real life. “Let’s put it in parking lot”….that’s PM speak that you are actually trying to solve an issue and wanting to stay on course to accomplish nothing with the meet.

I’m at point where I make updates up and just watch how these peons run with it.

Leave it to the Schwidiots to even f up job titles. This firm has no end to the levels of incompetence that it strives to achieve.

I am on a team of 15 Managers, all reporting to another Manager. The 15 are actually all senior software engineers. If you don't have Director in your title, you basically are a nobody.

I wouldn’t put anything past this collection of id10t leadership.

More than half of this company is some form of “manager” since that includes individual contributors now. You’re going to have to be more specific.
