Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Many Cisco Account Managers are working TWO jobs-Are Fran and Chuck blind or don't care?

Even worse, their second job directly competes with Cisco and they steer their customers to purchase the better non-Cisco product

Forget 2 jobs, I work 3 jobs, thanks to WFH. 2 of those jobs (including Cisco's) requires little interaction/meeting with coworkers daily as all discussions are done via email/IM. Very nice!!!!!!!!

So how would a competitor hire someone that is employed at Cisco? And how would a customer react knowing the AM worked for Cisco but was also working for another company? Sorry, I’m lost trying to figure out if this could actually happen.

Have two gigs and two separate home offices, on two separate floors at home.

All work for main job in one office, all work for the other gig in the other.

Dual cell phones, PCs, no work from one job on the other set of devices.

Why not?

Why should I put the extra effort in, which yes, I did, years ago. No one cares. It doesn't even seem like the same company from just five years ago.

I have a fulltime side gig since I put in only 2hrs a day at Cisco. OP, don't be jealousy if you can't find a side gig. My buddies do the same too. Shhhhhhhhhhh, dont tell Fran or HR.

AMs don’t do any actual work anyway. They could take infinite jobs and no one would noticed a decrease in output. I’m fact, keeping them away from customers entirely would be a net positive.

Even if people do have two jobs currently - it's likely because they can't handle their bills with one.

Working 80 hours a week sucks. People aren't doing this because it is fun for them.

Original OP comment is true. I witnessed it; I was gobsmacked to say the least. It was a red badge conversion to Blue and maintained there own private company when they converted over. Like many conversions Cisco allow red badges to get so integrated into customers environment it’s impossible to remove them without damaging revenue, consequently damaging revenue! Contractors and staffing agencies supplying into Cisco pretty much own Cisco project delivery.

@1phb+1f8b2J7p Actually that happens. Someone here in U.K. , in AS, had his own security company while working for Cisco. Was going around telling customers how bad Cisco security is and all the flaws in them. Pushed his own solutions instead. Got caught and instantly fired by Cisco eventually.

Complete non-sense. Just think about how this wold work in front of a customer. Go back under the bridge troll.
