Same Compensation Grade. One Senior Lead Staff, Another Mid-Level Manager

Lets say two positions having the same compensation grade, one senior lead staff, another mid-level manager, any differences in pay or bonus?

Btw, does the new TVC approach still applies the concept of area differential? If so, where to find info?

Lastly, the salary range in the job post, is that base or TVC?

if the range posted is TVC instead of base then I know a couple of folks getting paid out of range. If that's possible.

“ Also, FYI: anyone can go see any range on any position within Workday (vs. the limitation where you couldn't see jobs whose midpoints were $200k + previously). It's in the same area where you go search for jobs, but instead you look for positions.”

I’m not seeing this. (Although I wish I could!) I wonder if you have additional access since you are in Compensation? I see how to search for Job Profiles in Talent and Performance, but it only shows me level (P1, P2, etc.), job description, qualifications, compensation grade (whatever that is), competencies, and whether the job is salaried or non-exempt. I can’t see the pay ranges unless I happen to find an open/advertised job that happens to include the pay range as part of the job posting.

No range for high pay job, just like before.

Only compensation code. Make it what you will.

@1zdm+1f9CXbga is correct - area differentials are built into the ranges, which is ONE reason why they are wider. However, they are not correct in saying the ranges are salary only (I work in Compensation w/in HR). Those ranges are inclusive of salary and TVC (formerly known as "discretionary bonus under the WF Bonus Plan), which is the second reason they are wider. So when your manager is looking at what to provide you with each year going forward for your discretionary bonus (now TVC), they will be presented with what you made in the prior year in terms of TVC and the range presented to the manager that will be deemed "within guidance" will be built around that prior year's bonus and show the manager where that bonus will make you fall within the range of pay for your position.

Also, FYI: anyone can go see any range on any position within Workday (vs. the limitation where you couldn't see jobs whose midpoints were $200k + previously). It's in the same area where you go search for jobs, but instead you look for positions.

Think It's part of switching to Workday. Other banks adapting Workday have similar salary structure.

The new system seems designed to let the bank pay each of us whatever they want from one year to the next. I worked at another bank and we didn’t even see ranges posted. Didn’t know if my coworkers made similar pay or twice as much.

Do other Financial Services companies publish pay ranges for job titles? When i started here ~15 years ago, i had never heard of that before. I know i’ve asked my wife and some friends, but they are in different industries. All of their companies do not publish pay ranges.

I asked my manager what my range was and he told me just as I told my team their ranges when I did their comp reviews. just ask

Or a demotion in your current job with new titles. How do you know? This is so ignorant that we can't be told our salary range. The reason people come to this website for answers on everything is because the company has gotten so secretive. I think it's just a way to keep the "staff in their place".

How will anyone know if they are getting a true promotion if you don't know what the job fully pays?

That's the point.

Areas are built into the ranges, that's why they are wider. The ranges in tye job postings are salary only. Managers can see TVC ranges though. I don't know why they are keeping that a secret though. How will anyone know if they are getting a true promotion if you don't know what the job fully pays
