Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Who else put in notice today?

Felt great, huge lift off my shoulders. 10 more days at work here and then never again. Off to greener pastures!

Giving notice to leave feels so good. New management in tech really stinks. Seems chase and wf should merge. Failed management from chase won’t fix issues. They make it worse!

I going to sending a post card resignation to my manager from my favorite COVID non-hub hangout. Got in demand skills, should be able to easily top the s-itty merit as exceeds. Bye bye to the cult.

Gave 2 weeks. Was surprised they didn’t walk me out but happy I can wrap things up, honestly. For all the challenges at work, still some good people!

Later this year the cracks should open up pretty wide - at least in tech.

So, you're saying Tech IS affected.

I was hoping to, but I'll have to wait another few weeks, at least.

I'm in the final round of interviews and I think I have a good shot at getting an external offer. Once I get and accept an offer, I'll be turning in my resignation and not looking back. It's been in process for a few months, but timing actually worked out to still receive my bonus. The irony is I received my biggest bonus ever - just shy of $50k. Too little, too late!

I've been here over 16 years and this place looks nothing like it did. Can't wait to get into a culture that values its tech people! I will be more than doubling my total compensation (salary + bonus + stock), have unlimited PTO, and be full time remote.

I encourage others who are on the fence - see what's out there. You might be surprised how much more you are valued somewhere else.

@1pvm+1f9PGh2E so weird, I don't see any posts in this thread trying to stick it to Charlie. Personally, I think he's doing a pretty decent job. I was rated exceeds but you can bet I'm on my way out of here. It's not Charlie I'm fed up with it's my peers who do nothing but whine about everything under the sun.

So, in other words - senior middle management is the clueless layer. Whether that's from what the executive layer is having them do or not is really not my care but you can't believe for a minute that Charlie is hoping the high performing staff is leaving on their own terms instead of his. Make no mistake, it is the high performers who are able to land roles elsewhere. Later this year the cracks should open up pretty wide - at least in tech.

Just curious but how much notice did you give? I'm about to put my papers in but I'm not sure what's a reasonable period of notice.

The people that are leaving are the ones Scharf wants to leave. If you think you are “getting the best” of Wells Fargo, the jokes on you.

Its always best to retire (or quit) after the bonus numbers are locked in or ideally after the payment hits your DDA. Even if the bank that claims you are elligible for the payout, chances are you're going to get clipped.

Case in point; a good friend who retired June 30th of last year after almost 30 years of service received 25% of her typical bonus amount vs 50% had it been prorated fairly. She knew this would likely be the outcome but getting on with life and leaving a toxic work environment was more important than money.

Think about it; if you're a manager are you going to give current team members....er current human capital with more bonus money or give it to someone who is already gone.

Its not fair but that's the way it is.

Done. Put in notice Wednesday, the first day you could do it and retain your bonus. Feels like I can breathe again.

What a awful last few years, and 2022 is going to be a terrible year for WF employees (not team members, no siree) based on what I’ve seen in just the first month of the year.
