Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Has anybody attempted to take stress leave?

Were you laughed at or did you manage to get time off?

You might get some time off after the heart attack...maybe they'll let you work remote from the hospital room but I doubt it. They'll still require you to badge 50% of the time.

Pro Tip correct, witnessed twice last year. One left right after they came back the second is leaving in the next 6 months.

Pro Tip - If you can get your doctor to take 1 month off for stress, you can claim short-term disability and get paid for the 4 weeks and it gives you time to take a break or find a new job. You can take up to 26 weeks (first half paid at 100% second half paid at 60%) with a doctor approval and this includes therapists. Also, after a month being back you can open a new claim and do it all over again.

You get up to 16 hours every weekday and up to 48 hours every weekend. What more do you want?

Oh by the way, I'm gonna need you to go ahead come in on Saturday. So if you could be here around 9 that would be great, mmmk. Oh and I almost forgot, I'm also gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday too. We lost some people this week and we sorta need to play catch up. Thanks!

Just find a new job, instant stress relief.

Just use some of your unlimited vacation. Shouldn’t be a problem.

OP - this is Frank, go ahead and take your stress leave...I'll simply replace you with someone in NJ!

No, but my bothersome heart palpitations seem to have taken a leave since I left the stress.

I know someone who has taken time off due to stress. It sounds like that person's manager was very understanding. This may not be the norm though. Technically, if you have a doctors note, they can not ask you squat about your leave.

I did. When I resigned a month ago. New company actually values me.

They will try to intimidate you. At least in my department they do. HR, your manager and your manager's manager will meet with you and try to interrogate you. Bully-based culture at its best.

I don't care if it's paid or unpaid.
