Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Chats and comments

Looking at some of the chats and comments of internal postings and videos. I cannot believe that certain people still have jobs with Ford. Certain people are really negative towards decisions and they will make it known. If they don't agree with the decisions being made why don't they just leave? We get it, you don't like EVs, but it doesn't mean you're right to criticize the company and management for making good financial decisions. Some people should be let go, especially when they aren't contributing positivity to the company and others. I feel that these people do this so that management and others recognize their names and that's about it. You're not being cute or funny when you post YouTube links or articles about reviews on our vehicles. You obviously don't feel like you're apart of the Ford Family posting articles about how companies missuse the term family to take advantage of their employees. If you don't like Ford then leave. I would name names, but I don't know if it's allowed.

Does the name happen to rhyme with the main villain of the first star wars trilogies?

@OP. "why don't they just leave?"

Well, first of all, a spoonful of your own medicine. If you don't like my "complaining" you can leave Ford or stop visiting the Layoff website. It is called "Freedom of Speech". Second of all, not everyone can leave on a "whim", because we have responsibilities. The fact you actually suggested it, tells me that you are an ignorant irresponsible selfish spoiled brat, clueless like our management. As Mark Twain said "It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt". You just dispelled all doubt about you!!

"Some people should be let go, especially when they aren't contributing positivity to the company"

Well, in theory we agree on this, but I doubt we are referring to the same people. I would propose to start with the Ford family, the board members, Farley, and 3/4 of the upper management. There are bad for the company and they must go. The only problem is who's going to bell the cat. Shareholders already tried, but failed because of the Class B shares. Employees are not even listened in the technical fields, why do you think we would be heard in anything else?

I have been around, you know? and I have noticed something. Knowledgeable people are comfortable with their own, and can be criticized. They usually care about the quality of their work, and are willing to point out the issues before they become problems. Incompetent people are always afraid to be exposed, and cannot stand any criticism. They usually care about how they look in the eyes of others, not the quality of the work. They tend to sweep the issues under the rug and blame others for the problems.

Now, think for a moment (or two), and let me know who do you think post here, and who manage the company.

The Ford Leadership Team does very little to fix the current issues. They also do not want any criticisms from those that do have genuine concerns. Instead, they would rather brush everything aside, call someone insubordinate and not a team player. They'll do the same thing the OP is doing and complain about these people instead of addressing anything and have an open constructive discussion from both sides. As someone mentioned before Allan Mullaly was an engineer and accepted people's concerns, questions, and criticisms. JF & Bill just want to Virtue signal to the rest of the world and do not want any criticism of their decisions, in fact, they just act aggravated and dismissive. JF wants to be viewed on the same level as Elon Musk & BF wants to be viewed as Captain Planet, when realistically they aren't even close.

What the OP is really pointing out is that the troops don’t believe in the leadership team. When Ford had a real leader, Mulally, employees got behind the plan and worked together.
People recognize when they are being sunshine pumped and likely have already attempted to fix things through proper channels before saying F it and resorting to slinging stones and arrows in the chats.
If the decisions were financially sound, well reasoned and properly presented the troops would get behind the leadership team. A huge part of the problem at Ford (post Mulally) is that bad news and problems are not welcome by any leadership level, so everyone learns to sweep problems under the rug.
And Yes there is always one jerk who will post inflammatory chats. That one jerk sat near me in the Mulally era. Mulally came by his cube introduced himself and then asked for suggestions to address his concerns. The jerk was a loyal Mulally employee after that. Now that is leadership.

OP+1fCd01Sz just for the record I did retire two years ago. Second Ford tried to recruit my daughter last year. She does not want to work in automotive. I will explain. In the past couple years, she has watched how a company that claims they are a PEOPLE FIRST, A FAMILY, treat their employees.
JF, HAU have been in these positions for years at Ford. What have they done? I hear "WE HAVE BEEN DOING IT WRONG". Really! Like the LL6 &GSR have a real say in what our policy or strategy really is. Because if they do say something it is people like JF or Hau who label them non team player.
JF talks about complexity, but he was running marketing for how many years? Our complexity actually went up.
We went from trying to win to just getting by. History will Judge the actions of JF & BF in 5-10yrs. They will either be a hero or a goat. Given Billy track record he will be a business case right up there with the Edsel.
BTW JF You are not a Product Guy.

Funny post. I'd say the same thing about the obvious bill but kisssing comments too. They are so blatant that those people must be weak employees who produce no useful work to the company and have to resort to showing they follow the company line to keep from being put on the short list for headcount reductions.
