Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Cars

I'm sorry, but how are smaller cars looking with these dang gas prices going up? Does Ford really expect people to leave Fusions and Focus right now and jump into an Edge or Escape? The people making these decisions are a bunch of mo--ns. I'm sick of it.

Government would be much better off working on reliable mass transit for urban areas. The EV will never fly in rural areas and mass transit along with walkable and bike-able cities are so much better for the environment and the citizens.

Who was it that ensured Metro Detroit mass transit was dismantled and remains ineffective? Oh yeah the Auto companies.

Can't afford to buy gas when it costs $60 to fill up? Pete, Jen, and Joe have the answer, buy a $60,000 EV. and with the tax break you'll even have a few bucks for food.

Ford spun off Spin. That was the only efficient small vehicle they had.

Yes Fusions and Focuses would be flying out of dealerships right now. Except, we couldn't produce them anymore than we can produce our current lineup. Chris' cousin had the focus on other things for the last year and did nothing to solve the chip shortage. He should be fired for what the company is facing.

We own multiple vehicles, ranging from gas sippers to gas guzzlers. There's a vehicle for every want, and need. The narrative always pushed the narrative both ways, and that pendulum always swings both ways.

If you can afford both tools, then why lean toward only one? We just picked up an excellent gas guzzler I've been searching for, for a VERY long time. It was perfect. It will have it's specific uses.

Simply they can’t hike the price on the small cars to pay for the Ford inefficiencies and bloated exec salaries (and they are unwilling to remove the true Ford inefficiencies). At present there are people foolish enough to pay hiked sticker price on trucks largely due to leases and creative long term financing. Those days are coming to an end.
One of the first data analytics projects was to determine if Ford could set the F150 prices differently based on the customer location, and to figure out how much higher Ford could nudge the sticker price without customers walking away. F150 price was set the highest in Texas. One of the reasons Ford won’t do the no sticker di-ker is they want to charge some customers more.

They can’t make a profit on small cars. Why? I’ve asked that for years. I miss the Fusion. We leased several. Escape is nowhere near as nice. Hate the laptop screen on the top of the dash. I think it makes it look cheap. F can’t keep up with the way gas prices are rising.
