Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Oh no! Only 1 week left until RTO

I'm devastated, sad, and feel all alone. I have incessantly complained for months now and pi$$ing and moaning and said really, really tearfully that I do not want to go back in to the office I was hired to work at when I accepted this job. Who do these people think they are? Why aren't they listening to me [insert mental image of me stomping my foot and holding my breath].

I am not be valued as an (non-gendered specific of unknown racial, sociological, economic,, or educational background) as an individual! They act like they are in charge of me (well, okay technically I do work for them but come on!) when everyone knows it is us faceless, interchangeable, dime a dozen drones who make this place go. I mean if it wasn't for the 50 or so of us on calls throwing out every inconceivable scenario to bog down any sort of progress. I mean if it wasn't for us, we might actually be efficient.

They aren't going to even assign us desk. How will we get our clique to all sit together so we can spend two hours a morning to plan our lunch (another two hours) and then 2 hours in the afternoon to come with a reason to why we need to leave early.

I just don't see how this RTO thing is ever going to work. SMH

I have only met a handful of 70 year old employees here that are even close to half-knowledgeable about technology, changing business processes, or upcoming tech, and I work with thousands of employees. Most of them are rooted in the past, refuse to change with the times, drag their feet when new processes are introduced, can barely start a Zoom meeting, can’t solve a problem unless there is a documented fix, and so on. Bottom to top of the chain, they are mostly the same. There may be one or two exceptions but they wisely retired in the last year. There isn’t a single one left that couldn’t be out worked by someone with less than a couple years of experience. At least the new people have open minds, listen, and change with the times.

No way a very experienced, knowledgeable, technically innovative, fully skilled in the most recent technological software 70 year old Wells Fargo employee could be replaced by a "Newbie" that needs training like a kindergartner. Don't ask any older Wells Fargo employees to train you as you obviously would not appreciate it and you think you "know it all" already.

If you're over 70 stop being selfish and retire already???? So... I'm guessing you'd be in with the euthanize grandma before she puts a dent in your inheritance crowd???
I'll work until I drop... extra slowly now that I am aware it's annoying your poor little young self.
Oh... and by the way - I have a permanent WFH exemption (I'm old remember) so you can gripe about that now too.

That’s disappointing. Not just to me but for all of us. It’s not too late to reconsider. Please make this a better world by removing yourself from it.

Omg I forgot about these people @tuk mentioned: “please look up while you’re walking”

They are the real reason I don’t want to RTO.

FYI - The repetitive “living in people’s heads” comments are boring and mean something only to you. If you are trying to be funny, or insulting, or whatever - it’s a big fail.

WOW. The OP is living rent free in a lot of heads. Probably not very good neighborhoods but still the same...

1 day a week is a whole lot different than 3. I could accept one without too much angst. 3 is forcing my entire lifestyle to change after 6 years of a WFH agreement.

Fascinating that OP is proud of his immaturity. Similar to a toddler who just learned fa-t jokes.

I already know what will happen in my group. Everyone will show up the first week, but then our obese, drunken leader will find it too hard to haul his hungover lardass into the office and stop showing up.

Then gradually everyone else will start working from home more and more until eventually nobody comes in anymore.

If this takes more than a month I will be shocked. The beer guzzling manatee we report up to can’t even handle 9am meetings from home.

And he sets the example, so…..I’m really not too worried.

This article is exactly what is going on right now in the US even though it’s via DM.

I’m a Gen X and so sick of both ends of the generational spectrum. You have fearful Boomers who are afraid. They are afraid of everything from Mexicans taking their jobs to AI replacing them to worrying that forcing WFH is gonna cause offshoring. Guess what? It is already happening. ALL those scenarios. And ya know what? WE ADAPT! These rich D bags CEOs can sell property and get over it. At the same time, the Zoomers all have a side hustle and wanna be influencers or famous. They don’t want to pick up a phone and instead send 30 emails to try and understand a complex issue. I’m over both generations. For the most part, people are hard working but if you are 70, stop being selfish and retire already. We don’t need your old ways of thinking. We aren’t going to work in coal mines or on farms like your parents 12+ hours a day. Things change. Your bloated salaries are bringing us down. If you’re a Zoomer, please look up while you’re walking and stop trying to be famous. You’re not that special. Coming in the office 1-3 days is a COMPROMISE! Everyone shht up about RTO!!!!

OP: You are a sad, sad person with your obvious mental obsessions to make others gravitate to lows only you can experience or feel. Sad indeed.

The price of gas plus inflation on everything else will likely eat up the raises. It’s getting expensive!
