Just applying the logic here. Putin is not planning to stop, the war will drag on. Oil prices will continue to go up. It'll triger a recession. Layoffs will follow. We should discuss this here on layoffs.com, it's a better topic than chatting about returning to the office

It’s overdue, frankly. With covid grinding things to a halt, the great resignation, supply chain issues, housing/car prices through the roof, and now this? As soon as they announced they would increase Interest Rates, I had flashbacks to college eco 101. It’s not solely due to the oil. It’s just one more thing.
While everyone is complaining, remember people were living their normal lives less than two weeks ago, doing things like adopting out dogs and working in IT, now they are being attacked, lost their homes, are in a foreign land, or dying. Don’t be a bunch of jerks. We will recover even if there are more job losses.
It will be interesting to see what WFHM does. It's anybodys guess which way the housing market goes.

Mortgage is far more secure than other areas of WF. There are some jobs scheduled to move to AI soon, but outside of that, it’s a much safer place to be than WIM or branch banking for example.
you seriously want to discuss layoffs on a layoff site? oy vey ;)
I'm hearing things aren't looking good for WFHM. Projected originations are way down (due to higher rates) and the business is actively looking to selling off a chunk of the servicing portfolio to avoid future losses (due to upcoming recession). Those folks need to be looking elsewhere now.
Agree. Those who are whining about rto will probably not have a job to return to. Don't think it's easier to find anything else. I have had many interviews all that lead no where. Be grateful for what you have in the now.
