Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Towhall feedback

The blatant denial by TS about the effectiveness of wfh while the bank keep touting the record profits they’ve made in the last two years. During the last two years employees took care of the clients, worked harder and they were happier for it. It’s his opinion and it doesn’t make it factual. Sometimes I wonder if these executives think we’re that stupid. Here’s a suggestion, offer wfh for people who’s job does not require them to be in the office. All of the people they work with on a daily basis are from other states and countries. Lastly, while most people’s heart breaks for the people in Ukraine and would love to donate, their disposal cash is being spent on high food cost and high gas prices. The bank is not competitive with salary. So while you addressed some important issues you still did not address what the bank is doing to help those employees that are struggling financially with rising prices and a sad attempt at yearly compensation.

Everyone just leave. No lie, I left last month and got a 40k salary increase. Leave and get paid what you should.

As soon as he said “disposable income” I tuned out as it showed he doesn’t have a clue about either his employees or perhaps even the customers. It actually raises a question why he is in that position when he can’t understand their situations right now. Mostly it is because he already has that “I know the answer, cut you off” personality to everything. Then you bring people back to office with gas prices rising? And we care about the environment but drive your car more. Trying to make excuses why they don’t at least consider hybrid. Look at other financial companies who are doing it and yet he sprouts the lie that they have to do it that way. Then they say they care about employees when they don’t address the biggest issue all of them are complaining about or questioning on every call. As someone said here, so many depts can be hybrid and work more effectively at home considering their coworkers are across the country if not world. Then the lie about cybersecurity and mobility being the reason? That from someone who doesn’t understand cybersecurity or even performance mobility. My question is with gas prices rising at what level will it actually be better to take a job making a lot less money, entry level but you work from home and save that expense?

TS gets an A+ for pretending he understands the pain and struggles employees go through and are feeling. How can he, he lives in a different world where he’s paid well, so the struggle every one else is feeling he’s not. The man is talking about his disposable cash when everyone else is worrying how they’ll pay for food for their families and buy gas to go to work. Everything in this country has gone up in price except salaries. If anyone is expecting that this corporation cares about our struggles, they don’t. This is about their bottom line. You have to follow their logic even it if makes no sense to you but kudos we all have the ability to think for ourselves and not be mindless zombies believing everything TS or any of these executives have to say. Every employee at that bank is just a number. You drop dead tomorrow they will replace you a month later and not even remember your name. They will lay you off and take your job overseas because it’s cheap labor and not think twice about it. It’s great to be able to vent on this site but the reality for everyone is to continue to be motivated and keep posting until you find something that aligns with your values and give you the work life balance you’re craving. Many people have left the bank since this push to go back to the office. They will continue to lose people, more so skilled people. BM said at one of his meetings they’re hiring a lot of college graduates. We all know a piece of paper doesn’t equate to experience on the job. Some of the worlds smartest and richest people don’t have a college degree but BM knows best. Like many of you I will keep posting until I find another job where there is some degree of sensitivity. A place where half truths may sound caring than the blatant lies we heard today from TS. Here’s an idea, allow people to work from home if they can successfully do their jobs from home. For the people that need to be in the office, pay them a little more so there’s an added incentive to even the playing field. I would be totally fine with that solution.

Agree. While women are in the workforce, still are not making the salary a man makes. If you are a D&I yiu are more likely to get a larger pay increase than if you were a white female

Ever notice how executives are starting to sound like politicians? They’re paid to sell BS to their employees. Politicians have made terrible decisions that got the world in a prickly situation and now executives will make bad decisions that will get themselves in a bad situation in years to come. All of these companies that are embracing innovation will thrive in years to come because they will be the ones with top talent. People’s financial situation can’t wait for you to make decisions. They’re hurting at the supermarket and with high gas prices. You’re forcing people to go back to the office with a mere opinion that is it better for business neglecting to mention the strain on their wallets. He is so out of touch with the reality people are actually facing. Stay off the town hall TS, you do more harm than good. You sound like a used car salesman. Better yet get a tv show, you seem to enjoy the camera very much.

Listening to TS speak is cringeworthy. He’s completely oblivious to how offensive he is. Also tired of white men talking about diversity & inclusion , and celebrating women… it comes off as just a box checked off, rather than genuine.
