Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

RTP opening in September

Cisco has reversed its decision to shutter the RTP campus. Apparently, due to HCoL in SJ, more bodies will be encouraged to relocate to RTP or face LR.

Does anyone know what parts of the sales org will be asked to return to RTP and how frequently? Considering a virtual sales (GVS) role, wasn't given a straight answer.

No idea given that I'm not in a sales org. The published internal company-wide docs are saying that, in the US at those campuses that have re-opened as "Phase 3", there are no requirements for how often you have to come into the office under the hybrid work model now adopted.

But, every time someone asks a specific question, they are directed to speak to their manager or org leadership as they may have special circumstances/needs that dictate otherwise.

But, to come into the office or meet with customers in-person, you have to be fully vaccinated & submit photo proof of your vaccination card OR have an approved exception that results in accommodations (i.e. WFH).

IMHO, if they're not answering, it's a red flag.

Why would Cisco close RTP? That low-energy Richardson campus is way more abysmal.

Maybe this is due to Putin's war. Either way, RTP is better than overcrowded SV
