Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

RTO: Non-vaxxed

Has anyone gotten any communication regarding the testing requirements?

Last I heard the at home tests were no longer being utilized but I haven’t received any further communication with details.

I half expect an email on Friday afternoon that discrimination for the unvaccinated to end…. But the clock is ticking.

@3ltz+1fEmuYBK I've been having recruiters contact me, and about 3 out of every 4 are asking my vaccination status, for 100% fully remote roles. I asked why they are asking for the status if the role is fully remote. They said the company is requiring the question to be answered before they can consider me. A couple of the recruiters say the company told them it's required per federal guidelines (which shouldn't be the case, since the Supreme Court struck down the Biden vaccine mandate). But if you want a job, they're going to ask it, and you're going to be asked to submit documentation showing vaccination, even for remote jobs.

@3kzx+1fEmuYBK The mumps vaccine (it's a vaccine we all got when we were kids) is only 85% effective against catching it. No vaccine is 100% effective at preventing infections, but they do reduce the risk of serious symptoms or death.

"MMR vaccine is safe and effective. A person with two doses of MMR vaccine has about an 88% reduction in risk for mumps; a person with one dose has a 78% reduction in risk for mumps."

Wow, that’s a lot of pointless rambling to say “everybody will be expected to work in the office to some degree.” If you really are high enough on the food chain you might consider hiring an admin to proofread your writing. I guarantee that your associates would welcome your new found brevity.

I have had 3 interviews this week, and each one of them asked if I was vaccinated, even though the job was listed as a remote job. One of them said it is for a slim chance I would need to travel to one of their buildings. They have a zero tolerance policy in their physical buildings for unvaccinated people, and even require it from the vendors and janitorial staff they use. Since the job I interviewed for might require me to occasionally attend meetings in person, their stance is that applicants must be vaccinated, or willing to get vaccinated including boosters.

Everyone is "unvaccinated" because the jab isn't a vaccine — you can still get it, spread it and die from it. It also has a 99.998% of survival among the large majority.

For the long winded poster who "works far enough up the food chain" but has time to type a novella — stop lying. No one asks about vax status in interviews, new managers don't bring it up, and both jabbed and organic folks have to RTO at their scheduled times.

Got an email about it today 3/9. Clicked one of the links and it did't work, haha. The mask makes no sense at all since you obviously don't have covid as you just took a test. But whatever. I'm still remote don't really care.

Doesn’t matter if my manager knows or not, he is in another state and I will be one of many who will RTO where I have no co-workers. Since I have no team mates at that location, no one will know I am unvaccinated.

If your manager wants to find out your status they will. Point is, for the unjabbed, forego a face covering at your own risk.

@2cnc+1fEmuYBK, actually yes and no. Depends if you told your manager or not, to request an exemption. Managers do not get a list of who is vaccinated or not. I know managers who are complaining they have employees who are not vaccinated, and they have no idea who the person is. So no, they don't know.

Your manager knows your vaccination status since they have a need to know.

Wearing a mask now has advantages, everyone thinks you are unvaccinated. So they avoid you. Perfect for RTO. Clears the rooms, elevators, etc. Also just cough now and then. Especially if a manager comes near, have a coughing fit. No one knows if you are vaccinated or not in the office, it is all on the honor system.

We had the best flu seasons the last two for a reason.

Hint: people were wearing masks. Folks in Asia would tell you that’s no big deal, they do it if you have a cold.

Some people can’t wake up, but they have an agenda, and not one that protects public health, which they could care less about.

Yet people wonder when they say Americans have a lot to learn….

I was wondering the same thing if they will require masks now that the CDC says they are not needed.

If they worked so well, I want to go back all those years and wear one during all respiratory virus seasons and I want to apologize to all those people I may have exposed.

I don’t mind doing the testing but agree it is pointless by time you do it and get results days later.

However - I DO mind wearing a mask at all times especially when CDCs guidance has changed and the guidance in quarantining when you’ve been exposed to someone with CoVID is also now only including people that have had a booster or Vax in the last 5 months.

I definitely won’t stay in the office long if forced to wear a mask all day (or be very productive or heard on my calls). Anyone know if they will actually enforce this?

Don’t be surprised when you are fired for non compliance. Hospital Systems have been doing it for months.

It’s on teamworks in a hot mess of links. There is the color test site but everything keeps changing. Search return to work.

One should always use an asterisk when using “unvaccinated” since ultimately this group will keep increasing in numbers as multiple boosters are required to keep the vaccinated status and more people refuse. WF is already asking that you update your boosters.

The RTO thread lays out how our administration relayed it to us. Go in ,get kit, register kit, take test, return kit, and work until results are received 3 days later. Sounds incredibly stupid and a waste but it all to make the branch covidians feel better.

For those wondering about the conundrum of being tested prior to RTO and on-site testing, order a kit from the Everlywell link in Teamwork’s this week and then do on-site testing with Color thereafter.

See 2/7 email. In all fairness, you should know that unvaccinated people will have permanent stains in their internal HR files, and see their careers at WF quietly hobbled. Upper management considers them a nuisance, and failure to understand or follow commonsense health directives to be a sign of low intellectual capacity.

I would expect more instructions prior to our return. It looks like you have to show up to work, get your work station, log on to your computer, go to the test location in your building, get the test, activate it online, swab, return swab to location for mailing, go back to work, get results 24-48 hours later. Do this weekly until the next virus pandemic comes along. Will also be joined by those that become “unvaccinated” because not boosted. Do all of this “because it is the right thing to do”.

I am unvaccinated and I was told to RTO. In general, being un-vaxxed does not keep you from RTO. You just have to do a Color Health test once a week.

My understanding is for unvaccinated employees (since I work high enough up the food chain and have been in some of the meetings regarding this), they are going to work from home until the company figures out how to get rid of them (they want everyone able to work on-site even if it's in a hybrid matter). They definitely don't want anyone working fully from home. Even employees that were fully remote pre-pandemic are now being required to go into the office (maybe because they don't trust us?). For contractors who are unvaccinated, they are planning to not renew their contracts once their contracts expire, and replace them with new hires who are vaccinated. They're dealing with contractors first because those are easier to get rid of. For employees, they have to figure out legalities of terminating someone, and if they want to offer severance packages or not, etc.

Most recruiters for most jobs are asking if you're vaccinated, even for remote roles. When asked why, the recruiters say they are being asked by the companies to ask, even if you're never expected to step into the office ever. Probably as a means of ostracizing the unvaccinated (some of whom have medical reasons why they can't get vaccinated).

I have created an account for the 3rd party test provider, but there has been no communication about what to do next. There is a excel with testing locations by city, but no further instructions. I guess I will go to the testing location on my RTO day and learn more.
