Honeywell Olathe - yet another weather threat

All,

Heads up with the weather situation tomorrow. Anyone who is not here will need to put in a vacation day or unpaid time off. You will still need to maintain your 25% ot for the week.

Isn’t this company so sweet to actually GAF about their employees and weather situations? Anytime weather becomes an issue the company sends threats of either mandated Saturday or this cr-p….
Trust me I am applying other places - too many places hiring for this company to continuously belittle and not care about its employees.

The HR troll below basically stated that they won't ever have a plant closure unless the Yellowstone Super Volcano erupts or a nuke is detonated over Kansas or Missouri! Keep it classy!

Olathe management has to get all the revenue bonus money before World War III starts . 🤣

Most businesses only close a business closed if there is a state of emergency declared, which is usually statewide. I wouldn’t classify what is being discussed here as a Honeywell only directive. I would hope that knowing you can stay home, for your safety, and without penalty (excluding the inconvenience of mandatory OT) would be appreciated.

Cap'n Abhab S.K. will never declare a weather-related plant closure. It would cut into his bonus. Some of the management/brown noser trolls don't have a meaningful personal life and love having to work a mandatory Saturday and/or for straight time.

Last month of the quarter and Cap'n Abhab S.K. doesn't give a rat's a$$ if you are involved in an accident during a NWS declared Winter Weather event. Never forget Hon's stated motto -- your health & safety are our first priority!

@OP or @doj I totally agree with @ezy don't know why this would make you think they are not an employee.
My site has had this policy since they instituted no carry over sick time for band zero employees. I think it is Areo wide.
Also, if you use sick time don't you lose your overtime pay?
I don't get paid for overtime so I don't know that rule.

@asx+1fFT0953 - you cleary cannot read. The snow wasn't the issue in that post. "With all the problems in the world" oh please, give me a break! I bet you complain about some pretty stupid sh-t in your life so bounce off your high horse. It's the repetive nature of this cr-p so I don't blame the frustration. There's a lot of frustration at Olathe, aside from just this and a lot of people are getting tired of it.

It's a stupid "policy" to force vacation days, just let employees use a sick day, that's what they are there for.

@ezy+1fFT0953 - you don't hear the frustration because clearly by your response you're not an actual employee. Bye

OP, With the current events going on in the world are you seriously complaining about the possibility of some snow that may delay your drive home?

This is the same policy we have had at our site for a generation, and has worked rather well with a minimum of frustration. Curious as to what you would propose as an alternative.
