Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Permanent Remote?

Why are some people still assigned to work remotely, even if near a hub? Is there an office space shortage in some locations?

Some of us got exceptions. We were WFH long before the pandemic.
Everyone under my up 2 manager was approved for WFH.

@xam+1fFYRP2a - I don’t know where you get your information, but my entire group consists of ‘Quants’ and we all have to RTO.

TBH a large chunk of them won't be here next year.

What is the F'ing point of going into an office if your entire team is spread out across multiple timezones and states? Why pay outrageous prices for gas for two commutes just to sit in a cube inhaling somebody else's pharts just to dial in to Teams/Zoom/Skype calls that could better be accomplished at home?

Over 20k workers in Home mortgage are not going back to the office. This was decided a few months after covid hit to keep up with industry standards. Home mortgage offices across the country have either had their leases not renewed or turned over to other LOBs.

Most people who had WFH agreements before covid have been able to keep them as long as their performance reviews were decent.

I know one person like that. He’s in the boonies pretty much outside of our footprint. Oddly he’s listed in Teamworks with a work location 1,000 miles from his home (No, he didn’t move during the pandemic). Not sure why he’s not listed as field rep. I work with quants and they have to RTO like the rest of us. If there do end up being folks getting “exceptions” for no good reason and those in partner groups (I.e., the rest of us) get wind of it, that’s the beginning of the end because that’s inequity, pure and simple. We can call them (Charlie & friends) on their bee ess.

Wow! Overfilled office space, not sitting in the same seat each day … how soon before we all have the same germs 🦠 onboard?

Just wait for RTO and then you will see just how F'up CPG has made things. They will be nowhere to be found I'm sure.

I'm fully remote to support a family medical need with the closest hub being too far to commute. I'm not relocating and my management understands that. SO they can fired me when they decide to pull that handle. I'll survive in any case and they have backfill my a-- in India..

OP- there's an office space shortage in most of our areas. One of our sites here is 20% overfull. The rest are overfull slightly less. Days overlap with team members from other LOBs, and the LOBs refuse to work together to figure it out.

Some people are special. I don't know why, but they are - even though they are really incompetent.

I’m Remote but am expecting to go to a nearby office soon enough.
The problem is they didn’t have space for me two years ago when I got this job, which was why I was remote. I’m sure it’s even worse now.
Well done leadership.

Thought I saw an email they were still updating locations. So, it may not be updated yet. Running out of time to get that fixed.
