Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Attrition root cause

People don't leave because they don't have free stuff, they leave because they can recognise the difference between a good culture and a bad one.

Meetings for no other reason than to have meetings for political posturing or a bragging point of “I keep my calendar full, I keep my people busy”. Meetings scheduled during lunch or at the end of the day.

Wannabe power players just aching to chime in on things that have no relevance or go down a path that leads to no where. They always remain silent unless their management is there and then well, here we go.

Management bragging rights about making their people work longer, harder and more often. Goaling them on things considered above and beyond but at the end of the year selling it as “all you did is BAU”.

Management wholeheartedly smirking when they hear of others complaining about missing their child’s birthday, a holiday or funeral attendance because they were expected to attend a call or some sort of work brainstorming off hours.

Lets not forget the “lets try an exercise” something they are not going to do but lets just “try this out anyway to see what results we get”, all the while knowing it increases your work load. Then sum it up with a deadline to “try this out” and scrap it all when done. Later to ask as to what is the status of the other real work.

And of course making those who can work remote come into the office for forced camaraderie, you know because that always works.

The saying “what have you done for me lately” is a two way street. I don’t think management realizes that.

Just a few more weeks and I'm gone. Can't wait to start at my new company and leave this place behind.
