Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

RTO confessional

Next week we are being called back. My team is 100% more productive WFH without all the shoulder taps, open office personal conversations happening around us, and personal obligations with added commute to the office.

We are being told we need to RTO in the spirit of togetherness as if people are still

Many groups will be affected. But only a certain type of employee.

@ewk+1fFrQvcE, Interesting idea! And what about all the women who aren’t moms, nursing or otherwise? No private relief rooms for us?

Answering ‘what will happen at the end of March?’ … Same old, same old; and, Tech will be affected!

Maybe we call their bluff. I don't think any of us with folks want to entertain the cluster with documenting and writing up cause due to Exempt: Worked Somewhere Other Than Site.

In the longer run, if the pandemic was a foreshadow of the future of work and not a fleeting glimpse, the market should rightfully punish companies that cling to their buildings full of daycare for professionals.

@tjx+1fFrQvcE. Dead on. WF reaps the tax benefit of putting us in offices. We get $4.50+ gas, car repairs, unaffordable child care, road rage and in some cities violent offenders roaming free to predator you. Oh joy!

How about this horrible neighborhood idea? No family pictures etc to make a cube feel like something you might want to work in. Who am I kidding my bu-t won't be in one of those cubes for more than 2 hours a week.

Do Not support the Corporate Real Estate bubble. Let it pop. Don't buy things from your work site or around your work site, make every effort to not use public transit or parking garages in the area, do not go for happy hours or lunches in those locations. Bring a lunch. Get a ride. Spend money in your local neighborhood instead.

I'm not so sure about that. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye as they say. A few well placed 'terminated for cause' to set an example could be in the cards. I can't believe that any company will tolerate civil disobedience for long but who knows what their legal advice has been and who knows how serious people on here are. Should be fun to watch.

Just shows how arrogant “leadership” is to think we’ll all just fall in line.

Refuse to RTO. If enough of us stick to our g-ns there is nothing they can/will do. HR HAS NO PLAYBOOK FOR THIS. How do I know….wife works in HR.

RTO would be easier if there were private relief rooms available throughout the building.

Kind of like the mother's nursing rooms, but for men.

OP here text got cutoff but I don’t care to retype but sad I couldn’t share all my zingers in the original post. Basically RTO is BS and the bank will never return the flexibility we have offered it for the last two years

I know of one group that has been told to come to the office 3x each week, log in, leave at Noon to finish the day at home.

Unfortunately that's not my group.

Our adopted model is negotiating on who will be in the office when each week. Our manager then literally distributes a work schedule like I used to have when I worked at a grocery store in high school.

Did I mention that I'm exempt? I haven't worked 25 years to get to this level of pettiness.

RTO rationale is nothing more than the CEO's corporate propaganda. Nothing is based in fact which is exactly how the bank is run.

The official RTO rationale makes no sense. Among other things, it says we'll be more productive while...having small talk at the water cooler...?!?! What the...

No one wants to RTO, but I would have found a response of "because we said so" more respectful than the lies we've been fed instead.
