Too many chiefs and not enough indians

Soon it'll be two managers per one direct report.

I can't speak for all the Indians but at the O&A chemical plant in Beaumont not much hiring going on. Indian shortage here. Work and family life is almost nonexistent I think that's what one of our many mid managers called it work and family life. they are using more and more Indians for side projects which brings down the numbers of the tribe.

Intelligent people don't join the EM 'management' ranks.
They move on.
This causes an imbalance.

It's the people that got small.

Last few years have been one disappointment after the other. Latest one -CS&I. I was expecting rationalization and elimination of useless positions / consolidation of middle management roles. The opposite seems to have happened!

Too late for EMIT, it’s already more than that thanks to “agile”

Don't disagree...

But also to be fair, Indians are the only people we seem to be hiring anymore.

Unless they start getting rid of useless managers, which I highly doubt.
