A shareholder advocacy group filed papers Tuesday asking investors in the energy giant Chevron to oust the chairman and another board member because of the company’s failure to cut carbon emissions, setting off a campaign to alter significantly the strategy of the nation’s second-largest oil company.

It’s a waste of time trying to force a publicly traded corporation in a capitalist country to do anything that has any potential to negatively affect shareholder return. They are not altruistic nor are they expected to be. If you want Chevron and its peers to care, you have to either regulate them or make it more profitable to protect the environment.
In years past you could laugh this one off. After what happened to Exxon with Engine No. 1, I wouldn't ignore this one.
Winning…..well someone is!
They are probably funded by Soros to harass non-green companies. They are just earning a paycheck.
Good luck with that sh!t
Not going to happen, especially not during a time of rising profits.
LOL!
Good, let's get rid of the layoff addict.
Yeah, the board is going to remove MW when the stock is at an ATH and public perception is the best it’s been in decades because of the CNE greenwash. If that advocacy group actually cared about the environment then they wouldn’t have wasted paper filing such an ignorant motion.
